Stump should consider this backfield....Demoss at QB,Vega at FB,and Garcia at TB. Yikes! That would be a great combo, but there are other backs that are just as good. That is why I was asking if Green was used as a back today. He is also pretty strong and explosive. I feel right now testing people for the new look (QBs) and Senior mix is what is being tested. I really am not concerned of DeMoss that kid will do well. It is more of the other backs and the Defensive speed that was curious about, and the back up QB. What is his name.

i think it was tough to evaluate the back up QB for PI, because the 2nd team O-line was not getting the job done.

Can someone please go to the Hawk/Greyhound scrimmage today and report? Please....... I want to see how the offense is doing with the new QB and O-line:) what i was told by 2 ppl was the hawks got shutout 40 to 0 and the hounds d was all over the hawks ...wish icould have made it Since this is coming from you, I doubt it's true, but if it did happen I wouldn't be to surprised. South is an extremely young team, with only four returners on each side of the ball.

I think I am a celebrity in PI . . . lol
I heard my name called many times, but only found one person who was calling me. The dude said he did not have an account here . . . but he and his friend knew me . . .
I ended up sitting on PI side by an african-american dude named Cedric.
Too me, it looked like PI's weakness on offense was he O-line . . . especially the left side. Defense did good, but the secondary was suspect (especially on the small and medium hooks) and the receivers would get an extra 5-7 yards. The run was covered well, though.
There are some violent fans though ;D but the people directly in my vicinity were pretty nie people (surprising considering I was wearing a RH shirt heh heh)

Man was it friggin HOT!! I dont think Ill go to another scrimmage at 10am if its this hot again...haha all in all it was a good scrimmage for both PI and Harlingen. Im glad PI played Harlingen because the offensive formations that Harlingen ran helped PI recognize its weakness..secondary...Kyle didnt do that bad considering this was his first varsity start..the offensive line had their hands full with the Harlingen D those linemen were quick to the QB gotta give em props for that...Pi's offense showed some great signs of potential Vega played very strong. Pi's defense wasnt wrapping and missing easy tackles..seemed like they were just trying to push em and hope that they would lose their balance and fall...despite that PI's defense did show some signs of brilliance...Im not too concerned with PI not scoring cuz had Diego G. been playing im sure PI would have been scoring...Harlingens defense was good thats definitely gonna be their strongpoint...their offense played good as well mainly passing but when running was needed they produced some good runs...Both teams had very few penalties which is a great thing....All in all considering playing at 10am in the morning being friggin hot and first scrimmage it was a great showing by the Cards good showing by the Tarpons.
I do agree most likely itll be Kyle Demoss Qb Diego Garcia RB and Joe Vega Fb that should be a great triple threat to see as their technique and skill become more polished as the season goes....
And yea the RH coaches were there scouting even Rocky James...overheard one of them say Kyle was "All body" didnt know what they meant by that?? and also heard em brag about not letting La Villa score.....go figure.

Here's my feedback from the scrimmage. Harlingen Defense = They're gonna be something special. Incredibly quick off the ball and caused PI all sorts of trouble in the backfield, especially when PI's 2nd team Offensive Line was in there. PI's Defense - Against the run, for the most part, very impressive. The obvious weakness is the secondary, although that Soph. Blake Sapp had a INT and also a couple of passes he knocked way from the Harlingen WRs. I did see some really poor tackling though....almost as if they're afraid to hit someone and instead they just try to push them or try to grab them which usually doesn't work. Tackling needs much improvement, I cannot stress this enough, otherwise the defense will be giving up some very senselss touchdowns and putting the team in a hole because of it. KNOCK THE SNOT OUT OF THE BALLCARRIER!!!! PI's Offense - Some occasional flashes of brilliance. Joe Vega is very impressive, although he could use a little more speed. The run that he broke, he got caught from behind. Had that been Diego Garcia, he's gone. Kyle DeMoss, looks impressive, but he did seem intimidated against a very quick/fast Harlingen defense. His arm is excellent, but needs to work on the accuracy a bit if Port Isabel is ever going to open up the passing game a bit more. OVERALL - Harlingen is impressive, especially on defense. Their offense needs a little work but still is very good. As for PI, there's nowhere to go but up for them, and scrimmaging a team like Harlingen will only make the Tarpons a better team. I hope we get to the point that we start scrimmaging Harlingen on a regular basis. But there was one thing I heard from PI head coach Monty Stumbaugh that sums it all up. "This ain't Thursday night football, THIS IS THE REAL DEAL!" Our lil' YouTube stars need to realize that and pick up the pace.

The scrimmage went just like I thought it would go considering that it was a Traditionally Rich 5A school vs a Traditionally Rich 3A school. Now before anybody starts and putting words into my mouth. I'm not saying that a 3A team can not beat a 5A team. I'm just saying that in this case (PI vs Harlingen) it just was not going to happen. Lets just keep it real, Harlingen's student enrollment is almost 4 times of Port Isabel. I will say this about Harlingen's team, and that is that they do have a quick/fast defense. Their offense was ok for now, but will get better. For PI, they will be just fine by the beginning of the season. Overall, good scrimmage for both schools, and good luck in your season.

Very good scrimmage by the cards Paco was the main rb not vega and he is A-A. Tarpons had a lot of trouble with handoffs /fumbles some unforced Its Joe Paco Vega and he is of Honduran background

as a cardinal fan, on offense, i'm just glad to see some hope, last year the offense was non-existance, this year, we just need to get the ball to the RBs and WRs and let them make a play. have a plan, break down the defense. good start. the defense looked stout and the cardinals best defensive player didn't even play(DE-mingo rincon). NEED TO STAY INJURY FREE!!!!!

Are you a teenage girl? I guess your sources were right. South lost 7-0, but like I said their a very weak team and plus their JV was horrible last year. PI could probably beat South and give you guys a run for your money.
