I think Lopez is clearly the team to beat out of Bownsville no question. They are expected to get the city championship but I know they are looking to get in as a 2 or 3 seed this year.

buzz, nobody is giving any thought to weslaco taking the whole thing with shak gone. weslaco has size and speed every year but now they have some firm ground to stand on. shak's class set the bar high and some of the younger there right now are aiming twice as high. they're going to be a force this year. east has some great young players who some people got to see last year. this year, hopefully, it all comes together in a great season.

cant the same be used for weslco too then...weslaco cant get over the hump of taking a DC with arguably one of the best players to come out of the RGV.....is it coaching?
