What's going on in SB??? Who do they have coming back??? San Benito will be #2, possibly 1 this year. They have a lot of returning talent and a coach that has something to prove. I really want to know why you would think sb would come in 2nd or even "possibly" in at #1 corby? Serious question. They have alot of returning talent?? Like who .. They lose their qb and main rb (abel aguirre) not too mention they have always been inconsistent on offense especially the last 2 years, thats one of sbs biggest problems. Defense is alright but when they have gone up against SOLID offenses like wes or lf they have failed miserably, we know that. I want to know why sb would even be considered a top 2 team, i think they will be better then the b'ville schools but not wes or lf. |

Thinking of going to check out that dave campbell signing thing going on in mercedes and getting a copy of the mag. Idk maybe i'll go check it out, i know i was at walmart earlier and i didn't see any on the shelves.

maybe we should put together an online valley football review. a story about all the teams written by someone on the board who is close to the team. i think it'd be more interesting than anything the papers could come up with, although the EE one might be difficult to read

I usuallly go grocery shopping with the girly and pick up the mag and read it there...doesnt really cover much...i like the local previews better...only thing is you have to wait for those...

I bet the newspaper previews are going to be exactly like ours here. They just copy&paste what we say to the paper. THOSE ARE THE TRUE CHEATERS

its better than what Cambell has to offer....he dont cover much..im talking like maybe one small paragraph....the previews here go more into detail....also look for 2008 RGV Football Magazine that one is pretty good too....

I kind of hinted at it in my original post and Redbird (a little closer to them than we are over here) agreed for the same reasons (I think). Last year, they were in a tough situation with the head coach and his broken leg (on his hip replacement side) happening in August during a practice. Major distraction for the team. They still managed 5-2 district record. They had more distractions in the off season and Bassett was moved out. In comes Coach Gracia. He's a former assistant over here and I think most will speak highly of him. In one of the first announcements after that, they picked one of their receivers to be QB. I've seen that move be extremely successful in the past. Then there's the Weslaco/SB game, the one with the record. I think they are going to be a little inspired after that game. So, in answer to someone else's question, it has less to do with Weslaco than my opinions of San Benito. |
