negative eefan, if a coach has to resort to that kind of tactic, the he doesn't have control over his team at all. you just have to get them to trust you. if you can get your guys to trust you, there's nothing they won't do for you on the football field.

hey xlobo how many 5a district championships does lopez have.....................thats what i thought. If you're talking about 5A, Lopez has only been in 5A for 2 years so thats not bad yet. In about 27 years that San Benito has been in 5A they've only won about 3 District Championships? Wow, pretty impressive.

People don't realize how good that is for a program in their first 12 years.... You got that right. With the exeception of Harlingen South and maybe Mission Vets, what other Valley program can boast a better list of accolades in their first 12 years? Of course, things were a little different back then. Only the DC made the playoffs. Now, schools with losing records can make the playoffs. So here is a better question: How long did it take your school to win their first district title?

Just looking @ the Donna history (thanks to RPM). It wasn't until Donna's 15th season that they won their first District title.

E-E won their first district title in their 2nd season (1939) w/o winning a single district game. (by default). Their next district title was during their 11th season (1948). But, once again, they won by default. First outright district title wasn't until their 21st season (1959).
