2003 (3A-Div II) PI 28, Orange Grove 0 (bi-district) PI 35, Hondo 20 (area) PI 35, Liberty Hill 27 (regional semifinals) PI 63, Rice Consilidated 61 (quarterfinals; 4OT) Marlin 41, PI 10 i hate to post this...i mean being that a team like lopez has never even experienced this sort of success...BUT as you can see it was FIVE rounds to get to that semi final game...meaning one remained ....the state final... 5+1=6 At least we can say we have a State title in something. Soccer ;D

LOL! It's cool I respect PI to the max. I used to see almost every game because my dad is from there and we would always have season tickets. I can say the best football game I've seen personally is Rice Con....and I think it was the game after that when Lando had a moster 85+ yd punt...damn

Yea...that one harlingen vote was a homer vote. ;D
I have to agree with the others on this one....not a very realistic poll.

First off, the amount of games to reach the finals is the same in 3A 4A or 5A ranks And as being not much of competition in the 3A playoffs as in the 5A or 4A ranks? well lets see...Taking out PI of the equation the RGV 32-3A Since 2000 (7yrs) dist. 32-3A has a playoff record of 11-16, and no one has gotten to the 3rd round while the RGV 5A ranks have reached the 3rd round 15 times since 2000 looks like its much tougher in 3A come playoff time ;-) Back to the question/poll I'd say PI and EE... not sure about this year, but they seem right there recently (as in the last decade or so) with PI losing to the eventual state champ in '02 by 3pts and being Region IV champs in '03; EE has been making it competitive with always region IV fav. Calallen as of late too! Ok Mr.Stats.....Tell us what the record is for past 20 years when a 5A or 4A has played a playoff game against someone from outside the valley. And the record for 3A agaiisnt teams outside the valley in playoffs. For the 5A greenblood did one for the past 25yrs, wos87 broke it down in more detail in this thread rgvsportsclassic.proboards83.com/index.cgi?board=varfb&action=display&thread=70Basically out of the 3 rgv 5A districts from '87 to '00 the rgv has avg about 1 win over a non-valley/laredo team. Since 2000 all 3 5A districts have a combined 1 win TOTAL (not avg!) over a non-valley/laredo team (well laredo by name since that lone win came against Eagle Pass which plays in the laredo district) I can understand why your first comment on this poll was 'lets see if the teams even pass the 3rd round.' Honestly, I kinda feel the same way But u never no, If the NY Giants can do it!

neither has lopez been involved in the highest scoring texas high school playoff football game in history(5 and 1/2 hour thriller against altair rice) Man. This poll is funny just looking at. it would take a team that can take a coach telling you sh!* Every single day in practice and with the kids now and days they can't take it so they quit. so you think there gonna win state. the have to suck it up and take a coach yelling and spitting in your face in order to go that far.
