Just to add to the converstation about teams fighting after the game. Harlingen vs. (green team?). After losing the game in the final seconds, a Harlingen player sucker-punched another kid during the tradtional post-game handshake. This makes a 2nd incident involving fights with opposing teams. (before sweetninjas throws a fit) I'm not saying Harlingen is full of rotten apples, just one or two. Sorry I dont throw fits here, you and others may do that, but I dont. Pretty sad if you ask me and just to remind you I could care less about 7 on 7.

Well guys I will be the first on here to say that the Jackets were defeated by a very fast and talented Mission Vets in the Semi's. It was back and forth but in the final 2 minutes E-E was intercepted in the end zone which ultimately costed them the game. The score was 49-54 if I remember correctly. The clock ran out just when they switched possessions to E-E for one more shot. I was very impressed with Vet's in this tourney. They are going to make more noise this year than people think. So once again I repeat La Maquina was finally defeated this year by a Valley team in 7 on 7. Congrats to all teams that showed up.

Congrats to Vets... The 5 teams (Mission High, Weslaco, Mercedes, La Villa, ) that didn't show up threw everything out of wack. They had to make a new bracket during the break, but made a HUGE oversight in the process. Unfortunately, it was Edcouch-Elsa that got the short end of the stick. It was supposed to be a double elmination, however, EE was out after their first loss. Rio Hondo made it to the championship game with one loss in the championship bracket and EE gold was playing in the consolation game with one loss as well. Makes no sense. oh well.

BTW, i'm not trying to take anything away from Mission Vets. They earned their way all the way up to the top. I believe they only finished with one loss the entire day (Early in the morning, I forget to who, harlingen maybe...).

I'm not 100% certain, but I believe these are the final results:
1st-- Mission Vets 2nd-- Rio Hondo 3rd-- N. Rowe. 4th-- EE Gold

Congrats to Vets once again. What really matters is the exposure these players got for the regular season. Good luck to all!

In a last min. decision, they decided to have a Lineman Challenge.... The only teams competing were EE and Porter. EE only had 1 guy their for the first event. 2 more arrived for the other events. Porter took the trophy.
