If you look at the "Active Users In The Past 24 Hours" on the home page, you see the numbers haven't been as high as usual...
Obviously the worries and effects of Dolly have kept people otherwise occupied and away.
So how long before we get everybody back?

Walmart and Target are open as well and Save A lot is open too. Went thru Whataburger betwen Tyler & Harrison this morning, only Drive Tru open. Listening to KURV710 radio this morning, seems like some people will be without power for a week and some more flooding due to run off in some areas.

Reading the paper this morning, due to limited power all of the Freedom Newspapers were combined into one including La Frontera and spanish section. This could be a collectors issue. Delta area looks to have been hit pretty hard mainly in the Monte Alto area with a lot of flooding.

Redfish, if there is anything we can do to help, let us know. Thanks Chucky. Water has gone down a lot since yesterday. We've been cleaning up, sweeping up water, and throwing carpet out the door all day yesterday and today. I'm exhausted. I don't recall if I gave the reason why my home was flooded. There is 15-20 ft drainage ditch that runs north and south about 200 yrs from my house. Someone forgot to open the flood gates!!! My brother and a neighbor went to the gates yesterday and started to open them. As they were doing this, some guys showed up asking what they were doing. My brother told them about our situation and the guys simply said "Oh! That's why we're here. We were supposed to open the gates, but I guess we forgot." I can kill someone right now! In the 20+ yrs that we've live south of Mercy, we had never experienced flooding or even something close to flooding. It makes my blood boil thinking this was avoidable if someone had just done their job.
