The Cardinal fans I have talked to are excited to play tough preseason games. Coach Gomez has really stepped up the competition to get the kids ready to play at another level. Over here we always hear about EE and the streak and this and that. It is going to be exciting to see what all the hype is about. I have never seen EE play as I am sure alot of harlingen fans haven't. I know South played them when South was in 4a but the Cards fans I know haven't. I always hear about EE's weak schedule but all that is from your friends in Mercedes and Weslaco. lol. With the schedule you guys have now...we shouldn't be hearing any more of that. It should be a great game with playoff type atmosphere. RedBird, Harlingen could not have picked a better year to play EE. If they manage to beat EE, I will bow down to their superiority, b/c I believe this is the BEST and most COMPLETE team in the last five years district championships. I would like to say EE is going to pound Harlingen, but I just don't know anything about them. If you think that EE is going to pound Harlingen I have a word of advice for you buzz. WAKE UP! I am glad this is the BEST and most COMPLETE team in the last 5 years. That way I won't hear any excuses in here when Harlingen comes out with the win. Even when harlingen is bad....it is still hard to blow them out. This years team is going to be very, very good. I would seriously get that thought out of your mind now that EE will pound Harlingen. It isn't gonna happen.

However, I will say that EE is going to tear through the district. Despite how disillusioned the Wildcats and Tiger fans are, neither one of those will be close games. This is how confident I am, if EE loses to one of those teams, I'll put that team's pic on the front page of eejackets.com annoucing their district championship. how bout a huge cardinal logo on the front page if the Cards send the jackets outta Boggus with a L?

As for you buzz...I can't wait for you to bow down to Harlingen's superiority. That is going to be a great thing coming from a yellowjacket fan. Hopefully the rest of you're teams fans will do the same. Considering this EE team is the best and most complete in the last 5 years.

I still say it is going to be a close game. (since I know most of the kids) I know what EE is bringing to the table. (a lot of firepower). The only thing I know about Harlingen is the little I saw in 7 on 7. (which isn't much). It's still not enough for me to give you an honest opinion about our chances. But like I said, 32-4a is in for a whooping!

I believe 32-4a might be in for a whooping but I know Harlingen isn't. I hope your coaches know a little more than what they saw in 7 on 7 because if they don't....EE is going to be in for a looooong night.

Its not going to be a close game redbird...unless EE has fixed the holes in that EE line, otherwise the Dline and the Hgn LB's will be wreaking havoc in the backfield all nite. On the Offensive side, Hgn's new offense has the talent and players to break that EE secondary down....guaranteed to be a physical game....no pressure.

Big Games like that always are pretty close till the 4th when one pulls away for a double digit win. I still think it is going to be back and forth till late in the 4th.

A couple. They also just weren't very good. lol. I don't know why. I still think it has to do with how crappy our oc had been the last couple of years. Damn. It is embarrassing just thinking about it.

I'm really excited about playing Harlingen... now I have a taste of what it must feel like when opponents play Edcouch-Elsa. (A bit of uncertainty, mixed with suspense, maybe even intimidation b/c of their football tradition)

It is embarrassing just thinking about it. Why couldn't sweetninja admit that... he was quick to make excuse and what not. (the fighting). The OC has nothing to do with 7 on 7... The team should have had their own non-staff coach. If they had problems with their technique, it wouldn't be the OC... doesn't he just call the plays?

I don't see why not. This game would definitely call for some tailgating. More importantly, do you all still sell turkey legs or roasted corn? I remember when EE played HS they would sell it in a little stand on the south side of the field, but unfortunately, last year during the PSJA game I did not see it anymore.

Yea...they sell turkey legs, roasted corn and my personal favorite funnel cakes. Damn those are good. They also have these monster nachos that look like a heart attack waiting to happen.

Goes to show you what I know about the 7 on 7 thing. I just know harlingen never took it seriously. Maybe now they will.
