So how do the teams match up? Any news from Calprep.com? Are Harlingen and PI going to be juggernauts again this year?

The Harlingen/PI scrimmage should be a good one. I am very interested to see PI play because I have never been to one of their games before. I know it is just a scrimmage and both teams will be trying things out but I still wouldn't miss that scrimmage for anything. The Harlingen/EE game should be a barn burner. Both teams are good programs and both do bring a lot back from last year. The Cards need to find a running back and settle on one QB. I want to see how the offense adapts to the new OC from LF. I hear he has free reign to do what he wants with the offense. Should be interesting and I can't wait to see what happens. The Defense, from what I hear should be the strength of the team once again and Coach Gomez always has them ready to play. What is up with EE's offense?

I think that it's great that Harlingen scheduled EE and PI. That tells me that the Cards really want to prepare themselves for the season. Good Luck this year Cards.

EE Offense will have to find a viable running back to compliment the passing game. The DEFENSE will be the key to this year and how fast they gel. Once we get the DC question out of the way then it will be interesting to see which way the program goes. We will have an awesome offense, but it will be the defense that determines the success of the year!

read on another thread that Lyford picked up a RB from EE... what's the story of him leaving EE? Was he in line to be EE next starting RB?

He took the starting reigns early in the season as a sophomore and did an awesome job. It will be a big loss for E-E. Kid had very good potential to be one of the best RB's in the valley complimented with a great attitude.

As for now, the RB position is held by Pablo Garza. As for the QB's Murphy will must likely be the starting QB. If you would take 7 on 7 as an indicator for the starting nod, then Murphy would be your outright starter.

I wanted it in EE also because I hear a lot about how tough it is to play there and come out with a win. Still, I don't think it matters where the game is...it should still be one heck of a game.

Honestly, PI doesn't have a go to RB at this time. Some have some varsity experience and did somewhat well, but PI has some upcoming varsity players that could be standouts... so for now that position is a big though the lines is where PI will be fine, plenty of good experience players

EE will always be ready for a game. I have seen them in the playoffs. I saw them against the Patriots for the DC and I saw them last year against Kingsville. Believe me they will be ready.
