Good news out of Mission. Gas dropped a penny. And also the Saudis have now agreed to increase their oil production and maybe this will drop the prices a bit. The barrel dropped $5 the other day, too!!!

A computer glitch was the cause for people buying gas at 83 cents a gallon in Weslaco yesterday. It lasted for about 3 to 4 hours until the Stripes employees noticed the problem. It happen on Bus. 83 and FM-1015 at the corner Stripes store.

How many truckers do we have out there that are thinking about parking their rigs. I have about 7 friends in the last 2 months that have decided to park their rigs because they are not even breaking even.

I know everything is going up in price. Peole don't realize how expensive it has become to transport products. My fuel cost has gone up 300% since I first bought my truck. I'm lucky that I only run here in the Valley so my cost is not as expensive as

Well that really bites to see the prices triple in the last 2 years. Hopefully this doesn't mean more and more things will get too expensive to have and people will have to make some serious cutbacks. I know I have. I barbecue 2x a month as compared to 4x before this stuff became an issue.

it'll go down, but not a whole lot. i remember when gas was at 2.59 before hurricane rita came through. i thought 2.59, although expensive, was a fair price for the times. now i'm looking at 3.89. it just doesn't make sense to me. those guys aren't going to want to stop making the kind of money they've been making so a few battles, and someone "predicting" a war is going to keep gas at least at 3.69 for awhile. if it goes down that low.

And to say that we're lucky it is not at 5 or 6 bucks as in Europe and other parts of the world. I know Brazil is not dependent on foreign oil like we are. So prices are very reasonable over there. They are producing their own ethanol/gas. And Venezuela, with that "GOOD GUY" as the leader has has the cheapest gas prices in the world at 25cents per gallon. WOW!!!

they have a lot of it down there don't they? sad thing is, i think we have even more. we need to get out of the stone age and start producing more efficient everything. i don't care if a few birds die from a wind farm as long as i can turn on my damn air conditioning. what good is it going to do to have a wildlife preserve if we can't even drive over there to see them?

I know, all this about protecting those animals as if it really did a whole lot for us. There is newer better ways to drill and explore for oil that it would not impact the wildlife as much as we are lead to believe. We just need to put our foot down and start looking in our backyard.
