As for the Cards,I heard Leo Gonzalez(6-3,225) was playing WR in the scrimmiges, isn't he listed as a tight end?
Also name you'll hear in the trenches on the D side of ball is J.B Gutierrez(5-9,265),heard his name quite often last year during the regular season.

Leo is playing WR.
This should be a great game with the advantage going to the Bulldogs. I like the CARDS being the underDogs for this one. Good Luck and
Go Big Red...

Why do you think the advantage is with the bulldogs dragon? Its just weird to hear that from a card fan.

that's a big time prediction right there master shake.......are you sure the bulldogs can get that? Sure they can but I'm still trying to figure out how the Card's will get -3 points.

Seems that the Bulldogs return alot of players with size, speed and experience. The Cards have a new offense and a few key players on both sides of the ball are nursing injuries. Just being realistic. I still like our chances.

I am definitely not gonna miss this one. They definitely do have some big boys up front and a lot of returners but I am still convinced that the Harlingen "D" will do just fine. I am curious as to how well the mcallen defense looks. Are they loaded on that side of the ball because I am just hearing mostly about the offensive line?

RedBird thats McHi's strength, imo McHi will try to keep the Cardinal O, with long time consuming drives, off the field.....although it is a new offense it showed signs of potential tallying a total of 16 TD's in 2 scrimmages...Yes Mchi's Oline is huge and experienced its gunna be fun to watch as the D for the Cardinals is quik and fast, somethings gotta give and it is known that Gomez will bring the house to the QB....cant miss this one.

The Cardinals have good speed on defense and i could see them getting around that big Mchi o line. Does anyone know if that bulldog o line has any speed. Weve all seen quick defenses run circles around big lines.

When it comes to the fights in the trenches between the Cardinal D-Line and McHi O-Line, the Cardinal D-line will win that battle.
Remember, they faced those towers last year in Mario Benavides and Eloy Atkinson from Los Fresnos twice and that mammoth line from Harlingen South in last years bird bowl as well. They have plenty of experience vs. big offensive lines and do seem to have a good balance of speed and strength. While it will be a good battle, i dont think McHi's towers (Hong and Inskeep) have quite as much experience as the Cards do.
Besides, both teams have to shake off the 1st game rust...that will factor pretty big in this game.

it's not just the two tackles, it's the whole line hawk......that's why i'm expecting them to be so good this year. the whole line is dominant...

yes i know its the entire line, but those 2 players are some pretty heavy anchors for that line.

i agree, but this is a different situation than what los fresnos had last year. any one of these guys can dominate the guy across from them. the two tackles don't even come close to the guys from LF. they're good, but not that good. however, the whole line as a unit is more dominant i think....well they should be

i think harl. defense will be just fine, mcHi has a very talented offense. if the cardinals can hold them to under 20 points, i think they will win the ball game. i think it will be interesting to see, harl. offense vs. mcHi's defense. great game to start the season.
