Hey Guys!
I have a huge decision to make and I want your input and opinions.
As you know, we are in conjunction with Jake Berry's RGVSN.com and I think this is a great working relationship in that we can send sports fans to him and he can send sports fans to us. As you also know, RGVSN also has ties to Channel 4 news and MaxPreps.
Well, Jake and I have been discussing the possibility of us working closer together to create a huge RGV sports network.
We have a proposition on the table. From early discussions, this is what we have so far:
A partnership in which we are affliliated with RGVSN and because of that, we could be quoted on Channel 4 sports and get advertisement. We would REALLY grow!!!
We would move to an even better board (I would purchase the Vbulletin that I have always wanted to use.) which would give us many more features that I feel you all deserve.
We would keep our domain name and logo (rgvsportsforum).
I would do my best to move over the boards without losing any posts, but you will keep your post count, even if I have to manually update every user's post count.
We would still run our forums as we have in years past.
I would have a copy of the database so if anything ever happened between us and RGVSN, I would keep ownership of the forums and posts.
What is the reason for this proposed partnership? We help each other! We bring each other web traffic and advertisement, but more important, it gives you a larger network to easily access.
This is very different from the situation with the old forums. In the old forums, I only had a say in how the actual site was run, but as far as any type of input to the owners, I was a nobody.
In this situation, Jake has assured me complete autonomy. In other words, we do what we do, and nobody else has a say in how we do things.
Here's the thing.
We would have to move onto the RGVSN server.
We ALL know that Jake is a stand up guy that has put his blood, sweat, and tears into getting us this valley sports information. I know he is one of us. I trust that he, like myself, wants to do what is best for our valley sports community.
Personally, I see this as a great opportunity for our valley sports community to grow. This is not a decision that I will take lighltly, and I would really like to hear what you think about this proposition.
NO POST WHORING!!!
