Which one stands out more in your memories. I loved my Senior year but to me it has to be 8th grade football. It was my first year in football and it's something that I will never forget. I didn't know where I should post this so I put it here.

Freshman football w/ Gene Garza (La Villa HC). Raymondville had one of the Tatum boys playing Dline... I owned him all game long. Out of fustration, he conducts a DDT. He ends up getting ejected from the game. We won the game and ended up co-champs w/ Los Fresnos.

in 5 years he went from coaching freshman football to being the offensive coordinator at weslaco high school then victoria memorial high school.....although he produced productive offenses, he was never paired with a great defensive coach, so his teams were mediocre at best. since victoria his next highest position came as a line coach at porter high school. from what i understand he's out of coaching now after about 9 years in the business......
he was a very smart coach and a very good play caller, some "things" just got in the way.....

The downfall... I wonder if he ever tried looking for a head coaching job.

I think a lot of guys entering the coaching profession b/c they have a general love of the game and teaching. However, repeated failures like the ones you mentioned could drive a guy to lose site/focus on why he started coaching in the first place and ultimately drive him into quiting coaching entirely.
