what kind of repairs red? new floor on my bed room, 3 window frames need to be redone, about 18" from the floor up needs to be cut out around my entire home to get rid of the damaged sheetrock. Hopefully some of the moldings can be saved.

Finally got power back tonight about 5:30pm. We were pretty fortunate. There are so many who lost so much. I lost a fence and a few branches. There's still folks with out power north of town and other outlying areas. National Guard is still distributing supplies and they probably will be for a while. I'm still at a loss for words. I just helped for a little while yesterday (much less than my family and friends) and the looks in the eyes eyes of the people coming for supplies still haunts me. Behind the thank you's you could see the loss. When our Fire Department and the Guard traveled out to distribute ice, water, and food to the people who couldn't get out, they came back and talked of people wading out of the water with their kids to pick up supplies.

On the bright side, this hurricane might have had a postive effect on the population of the Rio Grande Valley. In about 9 months or so, we should be seeing the residual effects of Hurricane Dolly.

Question, why isn't flood damage covered by most insurance policies? Also, why is it sold separately? Is it because it is backed by the feds? Because insurance companies look for different ways to bend people over... yup....insurance is a crime in itself.....IMO....
