If this path hold true ( usually doesnt) then we're in for a wet and windy mid week. Hope you guys have your windstorm and flood coverage in order. If you don't, it's too late to get flood coverage. On a bright note, if you call first thing in the morning you may still be able to buy home insurance that includes windstorm. Once the the storm enters the Gulf Of Mexico, you're out of luck. About the only thing you can do then is pray.

In preparation for the storm, you may want to review your insurance coverage to make sure you're properly covered. DON'T assume you have the right protection. Call your agent and make specific questions regarding windstorm. FYI in case you didn' t know or forgot, Home insurance DOES NOT COVER FLOOD DAMAGE!!!!! What is considered flood damage? Rising water. Rain entering the home from broken window or damaged roof is covered as long as the damage was caused by the storm. Just a quick insurance update.

This storm really scares me for our floodway. I know that the levees in South Mission are being improved, but nowhere finished. Tim Smith just stated that the Mexican Reservoirs south of Falcon Lake are already at capacity and may very well overflow and drain into the Rio Grande River. Folks living in South Mission may have to keep a very keen eye on the weather here, but also in Northern Mexico as this may cause rising flood waters in South Texas similar to what happened in parts of the Mississippi River south of Iowa.

I think that's the main reason the Govmt wanted to catagorize all of Hidalgo County as a flood prone area. May not mean much to you, but you would definetly feel it in the wallet when your mortgage suddenly saw a dramatic increase due to the bank forcing you to get flood coverage. Of course the coverage would then be more expensive because of the new flood zone.

But why would the projected path come towards us if the weather people know there are high/low pressures along the coast??? I really don't know, but I haven't put up a board since I started studying the maps. I am watching this one a little more than others though but my gut and watching the pressure tells me south of us.
