LF has bueno parking, most LF fans know to park on the north side, leaving all of the actual parking lot, and field, to the visitors

last time E-E played Weslaco there, that parking was for VIP's only. I got there about 5:30 that they were not checking the people that were coming to the game yet. Got front row parking.

I know Mercedes peeps post here that they have all the stock show ground to park. The problem with this is that you get fans from both teams parking together and if you have some teams that come out of the games with ill feeling your just asking for trouble.

Also, it's hard to get out after the game. Although, at least they have volunteers trying to help people get out- at Weslaco you are on your own!

It was hell maneuvering through all the neighborhoods that surround the stadium.

All I can say is that almost ALL of the RGV stadiums put ours to shame. We will have new turf and more seats on the visitors side next year, but people around here look at it as a sin or something to actually have a top-notch sports facility. "Shoulda put the money into the classrooms" they like to say. I say that if the building has heat and a/c, doesn't leak, and is safe and clean, what more do you need? Our students don't want for anything, but our sports facilities do. There's no reason whatsoever that Calallen shouldn't have grade-A football and baseball facilities. Our programs are strong, but our fields are weak.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't most of the stadium renovations (artificial turf, scoreboards ect...) in the Valley sponsored by corporations?

Although, I have noticed that MANY schools who do well on the playing field also do well academically.
