just to answer your question crazypanther we confess to a priest because this is how Christ intended it to be (John 20:19-23): On the evening of the first day of the week, when the doors were locked, where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be with you.” When he had said this he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” And when he said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.” Christ gave his first priests which were the apostles the authority to forgive and retain sins. It was his intention that all sin be forgiven though the Church by aural confession of sins to the priests. God was forgiving the apostles for any sins they had, kinda like man-to-man I forgive you. Something like that.

To answer the question, where did we come from? Basically, if you really believe in God, then you probably believe that He created us. I have known a couple people who called themselves Christian, but believed everything evolution teaches. Belief in the Bible and evolution don't match. I really tried to make that work when I was in high school, because science shows always had these cool graphics and movies to help "prove" evolution, whereas at Church all we had were film strips. But after trying for 2-3 years to make evolution fit with the Bible, it just doesn't work. I finally realized that the cool graphics and movies were to woo the people away from the Bible and convince them that belief in God is just a stupid idea and that faith is the non-thinking person's way out. I even heard such statements on the old forum. But it takes more faith to believe some of the fantastic things that evolution promotes than it does to believe in God. Plus Infinity!!! I have studied many books in the area and the only conclusion one can make is that has to have been a Creator. Even Darwin himself, began to question his own finding regarding evolution. ( I will get the quote and reference this evening and post it). The one basic question all evolutionist's can't answer is this: If we evolved from monkeys/apes, why do we still have those animals around? why didn't they evolve?? Without getting into too much scientific mumbo jumbo, let me give one more fact in the realm of science to give you proof aside from faith. 1st and 2nd Law of Thermodynamics: The First Law of Thermodynamics says that total energy of the universe is constant. Or, to put it another way, energy cannot be created or destroyed but it can change form. As a form of energy the same applies to matter. Creation scienceFrom a creation perspective this makes sense since the Bible says that God completed his creation on day six and therefore it only changes, nothing new is created. It is however a problem from an evolutionary perspective, since it needs the existence of energy to come into existence naturally, which is equally just as unprovable as God creating. Evolution scienceThe evolutionist solution is to invoke negative energy with the idea that they add up to zero energy. Some claim that this negative energy in gravitational potential energy, but this concept is seriously flawed. The second law of thermodynamics says that everything tends towards disorder, making evolutionary development impossible If this is true and it is , evolution is thrown out the window since the basic premise behind it states that everything is evolving in a positive state. (exp. bird evolving from a land animal to one that eventually over time mutated wings to fly. ) There is A LOT MORE scientific evidence to refute Evolution at it's basic core. I would be glad to share more, but it would be toooo lengthy.

Life after death? I do believe this and here is the concept: At the age of accountability (mentioned in an earlier post) or later, if you accept Jesus as the propitiation (His sacrifice as payment for all sins) for your own sins, and you live a life of belief and trying to stay within His lifestyle, then heaven awaits. If a person never accepts Jesus as Lord and Savior, then that person has an eternal life of hell. I agree with almost everything you said here. The one thing that I do not agree on is an eternal life in hell. I have not found a single section in the Bible that talks of spending eternity in hell? Why would sinners/non-believers be allowed to live forever (even if they are being punished). It is my belief, and one of my professor's belief as well, that hell will be a place where sinners/non-believers will be punished for their sins, and that's it. They are destroyed.

sooooo does anyone want to refute my scientific evidence to disprove evolution and therefor lead to the only logical conclusion about God? Anyone? Anyone? ;D

I use lures. ;D JK.... but in all seriousness. God have us dominion over all the birds of the air, fish in the sea, and animals on land. He gave us all of this to eat. I take it your a vegetarian? If so, why are you killing all those plants for your own consumption? ;D

I have always believed in god but i always wonder if god made everything who made god or did he just appear out of no where He's eternal. It's something we cannot comprehend, and it is my view that we have eternity to find out!

PC, you need to stop asking people on this forum for advice on Religion and go speak with your pastor/priest.

IDK Im Confused? the statement was actually directed at someone else... but why are you confused? i said "i openly admit i do not believe" and considering the title of the thread...i think it would be easy to figure out what it is i do not believe in... I wasn't directing it at anyone. I liked Guy's quote, just not the repsonse, so I used his and changed the answer from no to yes. The other part about not being ashamed was an adaptation of Romans 1:16,17 -- I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew then for the Gentile. For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."Guy's "unequivocal, unabashedly . . ." was right along lines with what I believe (except in reverse), but why rewrite when it was done so well? I just expanded on the meaning, because it caused me to remember that Scripture.
