Either way everyone loves Mercedes Good Luck agains PLC. Polls show them as High as #7 in the state. Supposedly they return their entire offense. Watch for their RB X Archangel. Dude supposedly has some wheels as well. Your offense should be able to put up some points on them, so it will be up to your defense to hold up the fort. When EE played PLC that RB X Archangel didn't do squat! EE tore him up and then some. Back then the only person who was dangerous was their qb. Once EE contained him, well that is all she wrote. Although, I must say, that was two years ago- maybe the kid has gotten better, but I doubt it. PLC, from what I have seen and heard is basically a one/two man team... not much depth. Like I said earlier, the only reason they get alot of PR is because they are in a weak district and their first round opponents are the schools in 29-4a...an even weaker district situated in the SA area. Although, with Pleasanton back in 29-4a, things may look a little harder for PLC's district to advance to the second round as a whole. The only school I respect in PLC's district is Beeville. As for GP, I'll wait to comment until after the EE/GP scrimmage. |

i'd love to choose east, i mean they have all the pieces, but i don't think they're going to do it although i'd love it if they did. i honestly think this year it's a toss up between the top 3 teams; ee, mercy, and east. i can't pick just yet.

i was going to post something about the eagles, but it didn't fit with the rest of the post. there are a lot of people talking about you guys though. hopefully you guys can make a run at it and make 32-4a more than just a 3 team race.

I just want people out there to know that this group of players are the ones that broke the EE 9th grade win streak that went for like 139 games!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Lots of speed and many of them got their feet wet with last year's injury bug. The coaches were going through some tough times emotionally as well and are on their 5th year as a staff. Our QB will be a big as I feel that the one taking the lead there will eventually be a 10th grader with some height and a nice throwing motion. What good is speed and quickness if you cannot deliver the ball to the open man. If our defense comes back the way it's been the last few years before last, then I may not be surprised if we wind up in the top two spots in the district. It will be tough. There are 5 teams in my mind that can be top three material and the only thing that may be the determining factor is injuries. |

Right now I am thinking Mercedes, EE, Weslaco East, and then hopefully us.
But like I said. There would be no surprise here if Mission finally puts a good season together. These coaches have worn out their welcome and it is now time to put up, or shut up, and then ADIOS if they don't make the playoffs. And I would not be too happy if we go in as the 4th seed, but the way things went last year with all of those injuries, you just cannot really read the coaching staff and what they really have in their design and scheme.

I say the Vets might get that last spot! I like their offense, but their defense still may not be the best around. I wouldn't be surprised if they get in as well though. |

They played great when i saw them againts Mercedes! And they played great against EE and WE for the first half but buckled in the 2nd half. We had them down in the first half and they made some miracle 4th down conversion plays that gave them a win against us. If their D can step it up some, then they can definitely be a force to be top 3 in district as well. I just don't see their D as a key contributor to their success as a team. |

There was no such 139 game win streak.... That was just a pep-talk that a Mission coach told his kids to fire them up for the game.
