Why not make a spreadsheet with all of the qb names on the left and the specific test on the top so we can see everything at once and for each participant. I know that it will be posted on their website pretty soon. Some of the results that I can think of off the top of my head. 40 yard Vela - 4.70 flat De Leon - 4.82 Those were the two fastest times. Accuracy De Leon threw a ball 60 yards inside of one yard on three different occasions. He won that contest hands down. Bench press Esquivel from La Feria repped 185 lbs 27 times. That was crazy! Vertical Vela won that one with De Leon 2" away. I'll get the rest tomorrow.

I will telll you this, De Leon and Vela were head and shoulders above the rest. Even at the 7on7 level you can see the flaws in using this event as a measuring stick. If De Leon was head n shoulders about the rest, why is it that the weslaco 7on7 team can't even beat our 7on7 team? They have gotten 3 shots and have not come out with a win once. What team are you with?

So in 7on7 they do recreate that feel? I didn't say 7on7 recreated that feel....quote me, where did i say that? In your very first post you mentioned that we shouldn't really look into this that much that its a worse indication then the 7on7 games so i'm assuming you mean since they don't recreate that feel of having 4 or 5 lineman coming at you in this qb combine that you meant they do in 7on7.

ONCE AGAIN, I AM NOT DOUBTING THE DE LEON'S ABILITY, HE IS OBVIOUSLY A VERY, VERY GOOD QB, BUT TO USE THIS EVENT AS A MEASURING STICK FOR WHAT KIND OF PASSING TEAM YOU WILL HAVE IN THE FALL IS FLAWED.

No actually I'm saying 7on7 is a bad indication of what to expect in the fall. that's why i said, "This is an even worse indication than the 7on7 games.

Amnova we hear at wes are a running team, you should know that by now. But its a good feeling to know that you have a qb who does and can give you the option of being able to air it out. Same thing with 7on7 amnova, even with ee doing as well as they are. You don't know how its all going to come together come the regular season.

Did any of the Mission QBs take part. Joey Guzman, Gilbert Gonzalez, or Rick Alvarado from Mission VETS take part?
This is a QB skills challenge and not a team concept event. You need the OL to be very good in order to have any kind of passing attack. And then you need the WR to have good hands and make the catches in order to move the chains. Timing is even more important. And then ultimately, the biggest thing you need is the qb to have the accuracy and ability to read the defensive alignments to go to the hot WR or the weak link on that D.

This competition only took into account physical ability and throwing capabilities. Many other things go into account to be a good QB. MENTAL

Yeah you just made everything you had to say up to this point pretty silly. Especially on that high horse you are on with the ee 7on7 team. But anyway thanks for the info morris .. Some good valuable info on our rgv qbs.

Alvarado from Mission Vets was there. Nice QB. Has trouble rolling and throwing on the run.
I do know that he tweaked a hamstring during the 40 and pulled himself out of the competition. He did not make the final 6 even if he had continued.

My friend, if it means anything to you, I have EE as the number one team going into next year. I really like Nino. He's a quiet kid and he was really trying out there. Big kudos to Joe and Brandon Solis for being out there with him. I really like seeing coaches back up their players. Other coaches out there with their QB's: Villarreal and Baldo Pena with Dylan De Leon Gomez and Gantt with Sanchez OC from Veterans out there with Alvarado Rey Trevino from Santa Rosa out there with his QB

We still have problems we need to correct from last year that i feel i need to be corrected before we can make a number 1 in the valley.

And i do agree with eagleprohets post no doubt its all gotta come together. But i think there is no better indicator then these results to know how strong your qb is especially with pros doing all the evaluating.
