Brownsville Hotels that are giving us discount rates are La Quinta Inn & Suites and Residence Inn. If you want an even better deal, the Motel 6 is also at a low rate. Just mention Slam N Jam.

Stallions ended up taking the Consolation Championship over some Pace but some of the guys don't even play basketball. They barely won by like 10 points. That guy from Weslaco, the one that was recruited from Mexico isn't all that good. He's good but not a big threat. Maybe with good coaching but IDK. They made a reverse on him that was pretty sweet though

It was a great tournament. Championship Sunday was very competitive as all games were close. At the end it was the Brownsville All stars edging out the Ponder Lions. The Lions led the entire game and with 9 seconds left Edward Cazares hit a contested off balance 3 to tie the game. The Lions inbounded and the guard who had done well the entire game traveled and the Brownsville Allstars called a timeout with 2.9 seconds left. The play was executed perfectly and they hit a shot right before the buzzer went off. The Lions play very good team ball and barely escaped Weslaco (eddie cantu 33 points) in an overtime game. Weslaco, Los Fresnos and Edinburg were the top 3 high school teams from the RGV that participated in the tournament and are legit top 5 for the entire valley. All 3 have good guard play and have an inside game as well. Once Hanna begins to play on 1 team, they can contend for one of the top spots. Porter keeps improving with every tournament played. The Stallion freshman had only 4 players on Sunday and received help from Esteban to capture the Consolation. I don't know what game you were watching but Raul Garcia played good all weekend and gives Weslaco another weapon to the many they have already. On the girls side St. Joe's won their 2nd straight Shootout title by eliminating the Memorial Mustangs. Marissa Shinsky was named MVP for the second time this year. This makes her the only athlete to receive this honor twice this year. It is not too late to participate in one of our competitive tournaments. The Tournament of Champions is coming up and will be held in McAllen area. Call 956 624 9944 for more info. The only way to keep up or stay ahead of the game is to compete.

Didn't Esteban graduate... class of 08? If he played in this tournament, then I'm sure there were kids from the Brownsville area who did the same. The next time say the tournament is for anyone who played basketball in high school, an open tournament, or even a men's league tournament. I was under the impression that this tournament was for high school players. Give out the proper information, don't make things up to make our tournament sound better.

I graduated in 07 and I played and some guys that graduated this pasty year played in the Brownsville Allstars....i think all of that team had already graduated. This wasnt something to look at for upcoming teams. Maybe the LF team but IDK if they had graduted players playing as well.
