Sounds like the school board trying to explain the need for a 4 million dollar loan.

buzzy, how does a district run out of money like that. i've seen the schools over there, the only one that looks at all nice is the high school and that arts building across the street. where is the money going? oh, i forgot, it's ee.

The school district is one of the largest employers in the Delta area. Naturally, being on the school board could entail a lot of power. I realize that there is a nepotism clause, but that doesn't stop them from giving employment to friends, etc. As a result, they exceed their budget because number of staff members. When I say staff members, i'm talking about too many administrators and too many non-professionals. I believe that in a report last year, the school district was overstaffed by 77 people.

either way we're going to poke fun buzzy, but in all honesty it happens everywhere. I know... I've said it once and i'll say it again. The only difference between the corrupt people in power @ E-E and those from the rest of the valley is that the guys in E-E don't do it in business suits.

not at all buzzy. i'm take pride in being bilingual but the spanish that i speak wouldn't make me look very educated in mexico. i say if you're going to speak a language, and it's going to be the language that you conduct business in, you should at least sound like you have some sense. this choppy spanglish doesn't sound good at all.

EE probably doesn't have the funding because of the low property appraisal in the district's boundaries. There is not much of a commercial tax base over there and that will make it really hard to come up with the amount of funding neighboring districts like Edinburg, McAllen, etc. etc. have because they have tons more commercial establishment.
As far as the scoreboard being ready for the first game on Aug. 30, I have no clue. Unless there is already a selected scoreboard and the sponsors are in place as we chat, then I would expect this scoreboard to be ready after the season or in mid season at the earliest. Who knows, the good thing is that it will eventually happen. I had no problem with our current scoreboard at all other than it has now video screen and the surround sound is not even a surround sound system type.
I wonder if there is any planning for the field turf to be put in place as well? There is a way to get that done quick, but not this season for sure.

That grass field is the best in my opinion. It is well taken care of, but it's just all about keeping up with the JONESES!!! I've heard rumors that it could be taking place here shortly, but not for this coming season that's for sure.

naw, i wish weslaco had kept the grass here. the turf is nice, but there's nothing like a grass field. it's the surface football was meant to be played on.

Nah you guys shouldn't change the field prophet, i mean if the field is in good condition and well taken care of you guys should just stick with it. Theres not many stadiums out there left with just nice grass fields. Like here in wes we installed the turf because our field wasn't in good condition anymore.
