WHICH WOULD YOU'LL SAY WAS THE DARKEST DAY IN YOU TEAM HISTORY? To me i would have to say their were 2 Dark Days in Jacket History. The 1st when Coach Robert Vela left for Edinburgh. He took with the IRON will to win that he had installed at E-E. also he took Cazares our OC. Since he left our Off. has not been back to what it was. The 2nd worst day was the day they hired Coach Chris Cavazos. He was at the helm at E-E for 1 year but thru E-E back 20 years of tradition when he left. 2 days before he left the school board asked him if you was leaving for mission and he look the board members in the eye and said no that he was very happy at E-E and that was his dream job. 2 days later he left take all the coaching staff except for Coaches Martin Marichalar and DP. It took us 5 years to get back the Pride Of La Maquina.

recently, the hiring of bucky rodriguez as panthers head coach. then the hiring of coach davis as OC for the panthers by coach hite. there's a whole bunch more, but i think these 2 things brought the program way way way way way way way down.

Nice one! But at least we lost to a team that had already established some winning seasons and it wasn't their 2nd season looking for their first victory ever. I would have much rather suffered that defeat 70 years ago when our team was just starting their varsity years than lose in 2007 when expectations were high losing to Valley View! LOL!

I would think the darkest was when Justin Jacobs was killed. He was the running back of the 89-90 team(I THINK) and it was right after the season of his senior year but I think that day, hands down, was the darkest.
Now that nothing compares to that one....and if we are talking about something having to do with the program...well, I may need a while more to think about it.

LOL! you do have a point jacket, but it was 102-0 that's the most points i've ever heard of in an 11-man football game. you gotta admit it ranks up there, not as bad as mercy losing to valley view, but still up there.

The day Leo Aguilar died.
Another was when Coach Wyatt's son was paralyzed from the neck down in one of those freak accidents driving to Baylor for his freshman year in college just before the high school season started.

You are right! I'm not denying it just saying I would have rather suffered that loss in that day in age instead of now.

No i don't think so. Because it was not football country back then like it is know. Today football is king back then Baseball was the king of sports.
