It took $113 to fill up my F-150 yesterday. The good news is that I got 470 miles on my last tank of gas. Slowing down a bit has really helped improve my gas milage. I got 17.4 MPG on my last tank.

I was thinking of buying a smart car for use in my other business. Then I found out it they cost around $16K fully loaded. I didn't think it was so smart then.

HAA! I got 450 out of my tank, but mine only cost me 40 bucks. LOL then again I only have about half the car. L As for the smart car thing on 16K fully loaded, shoot as much as I drive it would be well worth it. I get 42 MPG out of my civic and that lasts me 5 round trips to work and back home (one work week). How many MPG does a smart car get? Or a Vespa, shoot those things get like 110 MPG. Only problem would be getting on 35E in the morning. Imagine that. OMG!!!

Just so you'll know. In Matamoros, gas is 7.5 pesos per liter. My math puts that at $2.75 or $2.80 per gallon. You guys check my math. Either way, that makes it worth a bottle of STP each fill up.

i wonder how, if the dollar is so much stronger than the peso, is the gas cheaper over there. it can't be that demand is so much lower over there is it?

Crazy, its not enough that the gas prices are outrageous now a days, some are still trying to rip you off cent by cent.

It is cheaper in Mexico, because Mexico’s petroleum industry is nationalized. Another words the government sets the prices and reaps all the benefits. The government subsidizes the amount of gas that they buy and the amount that is distributed throughout the country. Very similar to what China is doing. However, reports show that China along with Mexico will not be able to maintain its current low prices. Basically, their governments will be seeing a loss rather than a profit.

I thought that was pretty funny. They zip around pretty good too. One was going 70+ but almost wrecked when someone cut it off. Would not be SMART to get into an accident in one of those.

As you can imagine, there are a bunch of these small cars everywhere in Europe. During my recent trip to Italy, there were about 20 of these smaller cars to every one full size car. It is very convenient having a small car in those countries because of the narrow roads and lack of parking spaces. There are not many major highways within the older parts of those countries, so the danger involved w/ a small car is reduced substantially. These little cars wouldn't stand a chance in our highways in the event of an accident. I think If I did buy one, I would try to stick to Bus 83 as much as possible. Too many crazy drivers out there.
