i'd pick EE vs cal, but idk if it's going to live up to the hype...i hope it does......i honestly hope EE wins (despite what i've said before) but this matchup has two big time valley teams going head to head to start it off.......easily the game of the week...... +1 on that statement.

Why would they pick a game in which the valley team is gonna get blown out when they could have Harlingen/McHi....

Why would they pick a game in which the valley team is gonna get blown out when they could have Harlingen/McHi.... First, PI is not going to get "blown out" as you put it, and Second, maybe because it's a not an all valley match-up. Besides, who knows why they pick who they pick.
Don't worry, I am sure Alex Trevino and Tigers will get coverage at the Classic.

I'm sure it was a collective decision by the media that made the decision. Shoot right now in this forum, more ppl voted for a different game than McHi vs Harlingen. It's not as clear cut as you think. Unless its for the district championship, games VS state ranked teams like PLC, Cal, Cuero and yes West Oso MIGHT JUST be more intriguing to the media and others? Shoot I think PI vs CCWO will be closer than Mercedes vs PLC so if you think PI will get blown out, Mercedes really gots an uphill battle.

How? PI took CC WO into OT last season. West Oso brought more starters back so they have the advantage. Game is at PI slight advantage but we'll take it! PIs #1 RB is returning from injury. Last yr Cal beat Mercedes by 9... not bad at all, but the Cal coach says it has one of its best teams coming up ever in 2008... Yet some media has PLC ranked higher than Cal. Good Luck to all teams playing non-valley opponents !

So since neither of us has seen West Oso or PLC, neither can make a projection, right? As a matter of fact the media should be better serve retracting all pre-scrimmage rankings by the AP, Padilla polls, etc, What do they base their rankings on by the way?- If not from past performances, returning starters/lettermen?

Stingzone,
Are the numbers at the end are those used for the point spread?
For example, it would be Cal over Beeville by 7?
