Big difference there... those pics are exclusive to eejackets.com and are orginal content. All you did was slap together a bunch of pics that you did not make. You did not make those helmets, you stole them from the helmet project. The Texas Classic pics, looks to be stolen from the Dave Campbell's website. Same goes for the alamobowl. All you did by putting your name on it was tell the original owners of the material who the idiot was that stole it. Good job! Actually i made the alamobowl myself..........IDIOT I hope i don't get sued, inche lloron ............... ;D Don't hate me, hate the game....... This one looks like "your" logo. You should sue them!

Stars in stripes Comments 0 | Recommend 0 Mercedes returns talented club, gunning for 32-4A title August 14, 2008 - 11:09PM By ELADIO JAIMEZ | RGVSports.com Now it's a veteran squad. Entering his fourth season as head coach of the Mercedes Tigers, Gilbert Leal feels good about the product on the field. Rain and lightning have been somewhat of a nuisance at practice this week. But it hasn't been enough to slow down the Queen City Express. For the first time in close to 10 years, Mercedes enters the season with high expectations other than their own. In District 32-4A, it's not just the Edcouch-Elsa Show anymore. Mercedes will have something to say about that league championship. And in the Valley, Mercedes figures to be one of the preseason's top teams as well. Expectations and emotions are definitely high in Mercedes. And Leal is just as excited as anyone else. "The community is fired up," Leal said. "It's nice to start practice and have experienced and proven players at the skill positions. We have some holes to fill on the defensive side but the community is ready to win it all. And so are we." Mercedes has probably never seen so much experience back on the offensive side of the ball. Running back Alex Treviño returns for his third season on varsity. Treviño broke a couple of longstanding records last year during track and field season. And his speed figures to be the biggest weapon for Mercedes. At quarterback, Leal works individually with his signal callers. And the Tigers have one of the top gunslingers in the area in Albert Chavez. Add running back Israel Vela to the mix and the Tigers have a solid offensive backfield. Mercedes started practicing on Monday and with only a few practice days under their collective belts, Leal said the Tigers are on track. "I'm very satisfied," Leal said. "These guys know the schemes and that's the benefit of having spring ball. It's just a matter of getting in shape now." And after four years in control, Leal is finally seeing the fruit of his coaching staff's labor. The seniors were freshmen when Leal took over. And the freshmen and sophomores today were in middle school. So the kids coming up already know Leal's system and it's just a question of reviewing and fine-tuning at this point. In other words, Leal's is now an established and veteran program. "We've got some youth in the secondary," Leal said. "They're good athletes they just haven't played under the lights on Friday nights." And aside from practice time, the Tigers won't have too much time to get ready for the regular season. Mercedes' only scrimmage is Friday August 23 against Port Isabel on the road. The Tigers then open the season against Port Lavaca Calhoun at the Alamodome on Saturday August 30. KEY LOSSES: EJ Castaneda (offensive lineman). KEY RETURNERS: Alex Trevino (running back), Albert Chavez (quarterback), Israel Vela (running back). KEY GAMES: Port Lavaca-Calhoun (Aug. 30 at the Alamodome), Los Fresnos (Sept. 12), Edcouh-Elsa (Oct. 9), Valley View (Oct. 31.)

nice article. yeah wondered the same thing on the key match up vs vv dont make any sense, yeah i know we lost to them last year by one point and gave them thier first win ever in school history but still dont mean its a key match up. Eladio probably wanted one last laugh on that upset, but our guys will show them who gets the last laugh.

I know peeps are never going to let go of the V V loss, but that's ok. i know but why doesnt anybody tak about the other upset in mission and progresso, i personally think that is a bigger upset cause progresso has always had alosing season and mission was ranked in the valley top ten. vv is a new school they eventually have to get their first win one way or another

I too was shocked when Mission lost to Progreso so I get where you are coming from about Progreso having a lot of losing seasons but think about the kind of season Mission ended up with. Progreso has been in existence for decades now and last year it was Valley View second year of existence. Not only was it their second year of existence but the Mercedes victory will forever be in their record books as the schools first ever varsity victory. Mission's loss all though shocking won't have that same meaning as Mercedes' of being a victim of a team earning it's first ever win in it's school's history against them. I understand that you alls starting QB was ineligible to play and all but look at the quality of players that Mercedes had vs. the quality of Valley View. You all still had Trevino and Vela and a few other players with high expectations. V V didn't have any players who were ever mentioned as Valley star players like most programs have and they were still able to pull out the victory in the Tigers own house. A good ball club will be able to absorb a loss of a star player and still win games. I have to tell you that I was shocked when Hugo De La Cruz announced the victory for Valley View and thousands of others were too. I thought it was a mistake at first and then I thought he was playing a prank on the listeners. So just remember that Mercedes is forever linked to Valley View as being their first ever victory. Mission's loss to Progreso will just add to a list of disappointing victories they have had in about a century.

So when these other new schools begin their play & get their 1st victory, will it be a shocker to those teams who lose to them also? Yes I know they hadn't won a game and this has been their only win & I give them props for that. It just wasn't our day that Friday night. Life goes on........

I read in the 4a forum that PLC took it to Flour Bluff in their scrimmage, but may have lost their MLB for a few games...
Looks like PLC is ready to go next week...

VV will be better than some of ya'll think...they got a RB of their own that Mercedes had trouble with all night....VV D did what they had to do, contain Trevino.....es mas it was mercedes homecoming and VV got backed up 5yds. and had to kick a 2nd time for the Victory, they showed as a team they could handle the pressure.....y its a key game: EE hasnt lost in district in 5 years, or to mercedes....VV beats mercedes again this year and they may be the team that helps EE get their 6th strait title.
