I met today in San Antonio with Dave Campbell's Texas Football and we spoke about promoting the RGV more this upcoming season. They work with Maxpreps and so the partenrship would fit nicely. Also, Maxpreps wants to help coaches in the RGV with their free stats program. Coaches submit the stats, and they can choose which publications they want it to go to. The stats also go national, something we haven't had down here before. Just wanted to keep you guys informed.

Is there any way you could have that program "High School Extra" on Fox sports add more coverage of Valley hs football?

The system you speak about has been in effect for the last 2 years... I honestly can't give you a good reason why valley coaches have neglected to use it other than the following:
1) Confidential -- Some old school coaches would prefer not to give statistics, because it is now a scouting reference for opposing teams 2) Unknown -- Old school coaches and computers don't mix... Inputing the stats requires very little technical know-how, but an old school coach usually isn't keen on doing something he doesn't understand. 3) Lazy -- A cominbation of the above two factored into a "nobody else was doing it so why should I" mentality.

As a coach i can only say this. There are so many coaches that many head coaches could assign a freshman coach to do this. the inputting of this information is so easy.

Don't head football coaches/athletic coordinator's and athletic directors have a secretary that works with them--the sec can definitely input all this...

Secretaries have to worry about all the programs in Athletics. They do a ton of work. They have to submit all the receipts for volleyball, football and sub varsities. The sub varsity coaches can usually do it. There responsibilities are not as large as other coaches.

It's the same thing with the scoreboard w/ the Fox Southwest. All coaches have to do is have somebody call in their game scores by 11pm and they will put it on the sports ticker. However, you rarely see any valley scores on that show.
