i got out and cut a couple of hanging limbs down from some trees around my neighbors houses before i took off......seems like some of the towns weren't fully prepared for a storm like this....

Alot of people were not prepared, example at the hotel they were people with little kids getting hungry and were without food. They talked to the Mgr and all he could do, is allow the use of the breakfast kitchen, that of course quickly got raided. All that was available to eat though was dry cereal and they had to eat in the dark. So many people running out of gas and I see long lines of people filling up. Why??? Because they didn't heed the warning and got prepared, one of those things was getting your vehicles filled up. Not too many people realized that almost everything runs with electricity which includes gas pumps. And you just don't know how long the power will be out. I think it will teach all of us good lessons, at least of what NOT to do next time around. Sad really, because it is so simple to prepare. Water/nonperishables food/gas vehicles/candles/batteries/flashlights. Secure the area around your house/board up windows. If you are in a flood zone, you have much more work to prepare for with elevating you furniture.

So easy to prepare, but some people make it look like rocket science. Some people didn't expect the hurricane to come trough, you never know about hurricane's.

I have already heard about a couple of incidents, about people's inability to be patient, tempers flaring up, by waiting in lines or not putting up with other impatient people.

I spent yesterday at my parents in los fresnos. it could of been worse. few broken trees and fences. but my parents are without power and dolly took down my bros basketball post. i'd appreciate if any los fresnos peeps can let me know when the power is back on in the subdivision behind ramirez supermarket
