I think right now for Santa Rosa it's La Villa but back when I played it was La Feria first and then it was Rio Hondo. The team that we wish we could beat back then was Port Isabel. Came close but couldn't do it.

Loved beating the daylights outta LJ, but no longer a scheduled team. Hopefully we get to beat FB and EE this season.

Just using results from the freshman level (b/c JV results are virtually meaningless IMO). Mission High might be due in 2 years. This upcoming junior class only loss as 9th graders came to Mission High. Of course the previous and preceeding teams managed to beat them....

Beating Calallen and ruining their homecoming after two decades of humiliation is the sweetest win in this schools history. Doing it again the very next year when they are bent on revenge is pretty dang close.
Oh, the question is present tense.... It goes without saying. It is in the DNA of every Hornet. This year FB should be very competitive.

C'mon Sting. You know that you just want to antagonize our RGV brothers with that post. Calallen has 2 blemishes in an otherwise perfect record (23-2) against FB over the last quarter century. In that same span, the RGV has a 1-31 record against the Cats. The lone win coming in a predistrict game 18 years ago against Harlingen. Really, though....I can't think of any one team that we really have a score to settle with other than LaMarque, and we only meet them in the Final Four. But ok,,,GP and FB are both fun to beat. Maybe it's because those are the only two around here that have even a glimmer of hope in thier eyes.

I'm trying to antagonize them?!? The least you could do is give them the actual history instead of cherry picking a mere quarter century. The inarguable, unalterable fact is that the only season Calallen ever made it to the finals, they first tasted bitter defeat at the hands of The Hornets. District 32 with one exception knows all too well what happens when they play 31-4A. The exception..... week zero showdown In Wildcat Stadium.

What exactly did the Hornets get in exchange for thier 23 other years of futility? Or even the 2 they did win? It's ok....you don't have to answer that. We already know. 31-4A has definately given District 32 fits. Week zero at Wildcat Stadium will only serve to hammer that point home. Again.

The losses that have come against Callalen have been due to mental breakdowns. I remember the 97 game on first kickoff return EE recieves and we try a reverse when they had never done that before. PLayers looked confused. from there on it's down hill. On defense our players are shifting back and forth, they never did that before. They changed the game plan. Many players as well as EE fans placed Callalen on a petastal and gave them so much respect that it played onto the minds of our players. But it is different now. I think after Callalen stooped so low and desperate that they had to use trickery to beat EE in 2004, it left a bitter taste in our mouths. This was evident when EE beat GP the following year/the coastal bend curse in our minds was wiped, not by GP but by your cowardice trickery. EE continues to respect Callalen but not the way they use to. The petastal has been cut and now we see callalen not above us but eye to eye.
