The point in his video that really makes this hit home, is when he says we use 25% of the oil, but only have 4% of the population. We all need to change our ways somehow. What is the optimum level? I've heard these comments before and I'm not a big fan of wealth redistribution. As long as we are talking about free market solutions, I'm ok with it. T. Boone's wind farm solutions are a good example. His campaign is both good for us and him.

there are still a couple of things to consider when we're talking about something like this, and one is efficiency. how efficient are these new techniques gonna be? is natural gas more or less efficient than gasoline is? also, i'm a big fan of wind energy, but how much area can we devote to wind farms across the nation? who would own them. would the gov. allow ownership by the towns that contain these wind farms, would it be a gov operation, or would they only give out contracts to existing energy suppliers? what about hydroelectric? or nuclear..would we eventually lean towards nuclear (i think it's a bad idea) or stick with the clean renewables? this is one of the better plans that i've heard but it still sounds a little out there simply because it requires everyone to follow.....

Can't answer all of that but I know Texas just approved $4.83 billion for the infrastructure to connect wind farms in the pan handle to the electricity grid. The ownership needs to stay in private hands or else you end up with another PEMEX. On the natural gas side, it's a byproduct in many cases and is often just burned off. Every bus in every city should be running off of it. Hydroelectric? You couldn't build a dam in this country with all the money in the world. Remember the fuss by the bird people and environmentalists over the wind farm in the King ranch? Here's a recent link on that silliness. www.wind-watch.org/news/2008/06/15/wind-farm-project-moving-forward-despite-opposition/Nuclear faces even tougher relation obstacles (even though the French can get 80% of their demands with it ?!?!?!)

i remember the king ranch issue. it pissed me off to hear all these damn tree huggers protesting....they'd rather use oil based energy systems that'll eventually polute the planet to the point that all wildlife will begin to die. man they're so smart . it's good to hear that we're actually doing something about getting the wind farms connect to the grid. you put up 2 or 3 big wind farms and you could power the whole damn state....it just doesn't make sense to me how we can't see that it's better to use the wind and water......as far as nuclear, the only thing i'm worried about is the waste...how do the french deal with the waste from their nuclear plants?

na im just asking because would it make more sense to buy oil from a source closer to us than from the other side of the world. i would think it would improve the mexican economy and help solve the illegal immigration problem
