A guy that graduated with me (EP - 1979) found some of our old film (the 16mm stuff that went through those huge projectors that coaches would always screw up) and converted it to DVD. I just got it yesterday. Talk about bringing back memories! Man that was fun to watch. The coolest thing about it is that my sons were actually able to see me play. What they didn't like was that it was in black and white, but that's the way it was back in the day.

I might cut a couple spots and post them on youtube. The whole thing is pretty long, so I'll have to do some editing. wp2003, to convert old formats you can buy a machine like this (the one on this link is for 8mm): www.moviestuff.tv/wp_xp.htmlor set up a screen and projector with your old movies. Set up a video camera (preferably DV) and make sure it is on a tripod. Start recording and start the old projector up. When the movie is finished, take your video camera to your computer and transfer it. Edit it if you want. Then burn to DVD.

for vcr tapes you need a video card that takes in video. but for old projector reel tape ones you just video tape it with a camcorder

I remember there used to be a lot of OLD 16mm reels in the EE equipment room. However, I think they found their way to the dumpster after Robert Vela left.

Hey, I got some snippets together from one of the games. You can see what old-time football films were like. I added a couple of things so that you can understand what's going on. I was #32, after OJ (before he became a scumbag). www.youtube.com/watch?v=htUsMi2wGJgWe won the game. The quarterback for Kennedy that year was one of the better passer/runners in the state. Very slippery and could throw it a mile, when he wasn't under pressure.

Don't you like old-school wishbone offense? It would have worked better had we had bigger linemen. Probably the wrong type of offense for us, but we went 5-5, which was our first non-losing season in a long time. Of course, back then only the team with the best record represented the district in playoffs (none of this 4 schools from the same district). 2 years later Eagle Pass was the district champ.
Oh, and for all you youguns, there was no such thing as 5-A back then. 4-A was as big as it got.

I could actually do some narration with it, but I was trying to keep the size of the video down so that it would load quickly.
