It's all about the race baiters. My roots trace to Mexico and and Spain and to Arkansas and back to Ireland. No one remembers when the mick's (Irish) were the prevalent butt of jokes and prejudice. The media, La Raza, NAACP, and all the rest of the race baiting groups serve their leadership, as in a pay check for promoting this stuff.
We are in a time when you can't make a joke without offending any one. Does anyone else find that offensive?
None of the great comedians could have ever made a living in this present atmosphere.
Unless all of us stand up and fight the ACLU and groups like them, we will all be in danger.
Does anyone here remember the beanerman videos from Las Milpas productions?
I find this whole situation offensive.

This is the greatest country on this planet.
I get so angry by those that want to tear us down. In particular, the enemies within.

who are you talking about corb? do you think that the bonds that hold this country together are so weak that an act like this one, or similar, could tear them apart?

I disagree with your last statement about Comedians being in trouble. Humor and satire are one of the last few modes of communication that are not subject to criminal charges (libel and slander). Heck, there aren't too many countries in the world where you can make fun of the nation's highest leader and not be killed or thrown in jail.
BTW, I liked the beanerman videos. IMO, it wasn't funny because he was a "beaner" but b/c of what he did. He could have called himself hotdog man, and it still would have been funny. okay, maybe not.

who are you talking about corb? do you think that the bonds that hold this country together are so weak that an act like this one, or similar, could tear them apart? I worry about the strength of all the special interest groups. Some where along the way, the special interest groups gained an inordinate amount of power to persuade politicians. NAACP, La Raza, the Sierra Club, PETA, Greenpeace, the far right religious groups (yes that hurt me to type that), the gay rights groups, pro and anti baby killer groups, big business, have all confused the entire process to the point where you cannot honestly describe what any politician stands for. Not one. President Bush' time in office is, in my mind, the prime example of this, and I'm not talking about the war. I'm a firm believer in the cause. What I'm talking about is he ran on one platform and his actions in office match those of most of the democrat presidents that have been in office since and including Roosevelt in the 30's and 40's. The tax cuts were great and generated more federal income and at a higher rate than any other president in history. So what does he do? He pushed for increased entitlement spending specifically in medicaid/medicare, prescriptions, and the department of education (another failure). My only guess is that he thought it would be a good way to endear himself to democrat legislators, some unions, and some of the activist groups out there. All it did was piss off the conservative base and empower the left leaning side because they could go home and claim they were able to get more federal (our) money out to their constituents. Back to your original question, yes, I fear the groups out there are encouraging the breakdown of the bonds that join us. I was a Republican once. As Reagan said when he commented on his previous Democrat affiliation, "I didn't leave the party. The party left me."
