I COULD wrap them up and send them to you Buzzy. Just send me a pm and consider it done! ;D Life's a garden, man, you gotta dig it. Look at the postive side of things. You've got yourself a fertilizer-making machine there. not really. his gift aren't much larger than vienna sausage. I guess that's a positive. I would hate to be cleaning up huge turds made by big dogs. I think I would shoot him at that point.

sounds like the dog has you trained at that point. he's telling all his buddies "come by later and look through the sliding door. watch what i can make my owner do. all i have to do is LOOK at the door and he opens it. it took me awhile but now he does it every time" lol

Hey Red,
It's not that hard. But, it is very annoying in the beginning. I have 3 turd making machines.
Get a crate. Put the pup in there every night.
It's noisy at first. When you open it up in the morning, be excited about going outside and grab the pup if it starts to go before you reach the door. It will happen.
It won't take long before he/she figures out where to go.

He seems to be getting the idea that when I take him out, its time to do his business. Right now, my main problem is making sure I take him out often enough. If I dont take him out every hour and half or two, then he will leave me a deposit.

They are still growing and just like a kid all they are gonna do is eat, sleep, play and poop. Get him on a schedule and stick to it. Spaniels are smart dogs. It'll pick up on it quick. Pay attention to him. If you guys are watching TV or something make sure you block off all exits in order to keep him front and center. Sometimes they'll give you a subtle little clue but dancing with the stars is on and you miss. it. The pup's not gonna reach up and slap you. He's just gonna shrug, wander off and poop behind the couch. ;D He's gonna try and hide it. If you don't give him that chance you'll catch him sniffing and be able to correct him. If you have any questions PM me. For those of you that say you wouldn't get an inside dog I say don't get a dog if you can't keep it inside.

hey red give him a treat every time he deposits a gift in the yard. I haven't tried that, but I will. All I do is praise him for doing it outside, but no doggie treat. I'll add that today. Thanks

another thing they will do is scratch the door. They will also start sniffing their nose around. You gotta watch for that.

I ususally let my dogs outside for a good hour or two before I go to bed but if I forget, the female dog will wake up la wifa and let her know it's time to go outside. When I got my male dog from his original owners he was an outside dog, but we noticed right away he never messed the house with pee or poop so we turned him into an inside dog. Now he rarely wants to go outside for anything other than doing his business, he'd rather sleep all day in the a/c.

Someone told me that they sell a spray that is scented like dog crap and you can spray it outside and they look for that smell and crap their. Or you can buy a little disposable mat and spray the stuff there if you don't wanna take him/her outside....
