went out yesterday late morning to walk the sand near the transition north of the convention center. I waded into the water around 11:00am hoping to see a fish or two, but not really expecting much. Action was a little slow, but it was just simply beautiful walking around without another soul around me. I would have been happy with just casting at a fish and maybe just catching one, buuuuuut no. I have a reputation to maintain. I landed 5 reds in about a 2 hour wade. Three were nice fat ones, and 2 were smaller rat reds. I called it quits after la wifa called and was headed my direction w/ the kidos so they could play in the water. not too bad for a short wade.

hey Red, do you know if the red fish limit of 20"-28" slot is now going to be 24"-28" ? I heard that on a message board. Haven't heard of that new possible rule, but I wouldn't be opposed to it. a 20 or 21 inch red is kind of small, but better tasting than the larger ones. I wouldn't be surprised if some kind of rule like that would take place. As a trade off, they could always increase the bag limit to 4 reds within the new slot limit, but i don't think so. That would be ALOT of fish to clean after every trip. ;D

My wife and I really enjoyed it the last time we went out there and waded. I will look for the memory card where we have pics that we took out there. Was the water clear?

Wow, what a beautiful morning. took home a 29' and a 21' redfish today. my wife got 3 NICE flatties. Her first flatties ever landed. I hooked up 2 reds on Johnson's silver minnow. We fished the convention center flats today around 7am -11am. I found a nice spot out there. We caught about 10 rat reds. Was back home around 1pm. ill post a pic in a bit. the 29' red is my personal best to date.
