Andre Berto vs. Steve Forbes has been added on to the Mosley-Mayorga Card in September. It will be Berto's first title defense.

Judah-Clottey presser! Thursday, July 31 2008 Two-time world champion Zab Judah and #1 world-ranked Joshua Clottey, who battle for the vacant IBF welterweight championship on Saturday, faced off at today's the final press conference at the Pearl Theater inside the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. ZAB JUDAH: I am looking forward to winning my fifth world title. I have a great team behind me. I have been back in the gym and I am ready for this fight. I was depressed when my fight against Shane Mosley fell out but everything happens for a reason and here I am ready to win my 5th world title. I do not underestimate Clottey in any way. He is a great fighter but he will be facing the best Zab Judah. JOSHUA CLOTTEY: I will only talk to Zab and I will make him cry on Saturday. I do not come here to lose. I have wanted to fight him for a long time and now that time is here. I don't care that he is a 4 time world champion, I promise that I will beat him.

Clottey wins IBF 147 belt!
Saturday, August 2 2008
IBF #1 welterweight Joshua Clottey (35-3, 21 KOs) won a ninth round technical decision over former two-division world champion Zab Judah (36-6, 25 KOs) on Saturday night at the Palms Casino & Hotel in Las Vegas to claim the vacant IBF welterweight title formerly held by Antonio Margarito. The bout went to the scorecards after Judah suffered a bad cut over his right eye in round nine. The cut was ruled to be caused by a headbutt, although on replays it appeared to be caused by an uppercut. It was a competitive fight with Clottey seemingly getting stronger as the fight progressed. Scores at the stoppage were 86-85, 87-84, 86-85.
WBO #3 lightweight Anthony Peterson (28-0, 19 KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over former world champion Javier Jauregui (53-15-2, 36 KOs). Scores were 99-91, 100-90, 100-90, although the bout was more competitive than you'd expect from a near shutout.

Darchinyan destroys Kirilov!
Saturday, August 2 2008
Former IBF flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan (30-1-1, 24 KOs) became a world champion for the second time on Saturday night, dethroning IBF super flyweight champion Dimitri "The Baby" Kirilov (29-3-1, 9 KOs) by fifth round knockout at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Washington. The difference in firepower was apparent immediately as the hard-punching Darchinyan simply teed off at will on Kirilov, finally dropping him twice in round five, the second time for the count. Time was 1:05. Very impressive performance by Darchinyan.

i dont think so. i think clottey will fight berto like he stated. This fight would be very entertaining IMO.Both of thier styles would collide with each other in the only boxing/counter-punching match.Could be interesting. Im pretty sure that Berto would take this chance as well. He should. After he beats Forbes.

Stevie Forbes is gonna beat Andre Berto....mark my words...
And Zab was just looking for a way out of that fight.....but that Clottey was horrible in this fight, he is too much of a counter-puncher and didnt take the offensive enough in that fight to merit the win, they should have just left the championship vacant, neither did anything to deserve it....
IBP, looks like we are going to endure yet another boring a$$ fight from B-Hop, he is scheduled to fight Kelly Pavlik at light heavy....i got Pavlik as B-Hop is just like clottey, a strictly counter-puncher with much less power....
I liked how Margarito called out DLH and Mayberry on HBO last weekend....he would destroy both of them....especially the golden retriever....
Why is Max Kellerman following the Larry Merchant school of interviews?

if it goes the distance Forbes will take it easy. I dont know why but my mind is thinking Berto is gonna win. Hopefully Pavlik will make it a fight, but any fight that hopkins fights in is boring. Did you hear how Max kellerman was talking about floyd?Gatcho.

Pavlik-Hopkins NYC Presser!
Tuesday, August 5 2008
WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly "The Ghost" Pavlik and "the Executioner" Bernard Hopkins faced off today at a press conference for their October 18 pay-per-view clash at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall. At podium, Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer called Hopkins "the Ghostbuster." Hopkins stated, "I never thought we would fight - I've always been a Pavlik fan - watching his fights against Miranda and Taylor. Yes, kelly has a punch but so do a lot of others who I have fought. I have nothing bad to say about Kelly - but I am going in to win." Pavlik commented, "He's still dangerous, tricky and I am going up against a Hall of Famer. I'm taking the fight very seriously. Boxing fans want to see big fights and this is a big one."
