I thought police couldn't enter your property w/o your permission.

Oh no. This is a direct violation of just about every right we have. They walked on his property, opened his door, entered with out permission and without provocation.
They should have been shot by the owner. This is one of the more stunning violations of property rights that I've heard of in long time.

I was thinking the same like they needed a warrant or something like that but I thought warrants were only to go in and arrest someone but I looked it up and it's not. Any info on what happened after all of this buzzy?

They had probable cause, pc is what ever a police officer feels justifies his entry to the home, tv on, door ajar, keys in the trucks ignition, knocks and no answer, the cops probably thought something had happened in the home, i.e. somebody got killed or had an accident...
if that had been the case, im sure the guy wouldnt be whining about them coming into his home...its damned if you do, damned if you dont...

Same incident happened to me but different outcome. I left the garage open one night, and at 3am i had the police knocking on my garage door which is always unlocked. I heard the loud pounding and when i went up to the door i heard weslaco pd so i opened it and they just wanted to know if everything was ok. They stopped because i had the garage open, the light was on, the hood to my car was open and they thought there was a burglary. I just showed my identification and proof that i was the owner of the property.
