I just got back from the Robert Garza Football Camp at Sam's Stadium. Good stuff. There were about 8 stations of fundamental drills and Robert was in there mixing it up with the kids. What REALLY caught my attention was when one of the kids walked out of line to take an extra water break. I noticed that Robert saw the kid break ranks and head to the water, keeping his eye on him as he walked towards him. When the kid got back in line, Robert walked to him and checked on him personally, walked him back to the water, and stayed with him, talking with him for awhile, and made sure he was ok before moving him to another area to be tended to. GREAT JOB ROBERT GARZA!!! His message at the beginning of camp was inspirational, and the camp was well run. On a side note, talking with Robert, I found out that he does visit the sports forums, and I asked him to register and drop us some words! He said he would, and I will be visiting his web site, www.robertogarza63.com to give him our web address. Hopefully, he can come in when he has time and chat with us has beens!!! I will post pictures soon.

He definitely is. Great job. That would be bad a** if he would drop by and say a few words on the site. He is a very humble and down to earth guy. Nice having someone like that represent from the valley.

i remember talking to robert once early on in his pro career. he's a really cool guy, nice to see him coming down and giving the kids down here some help and inspiration.
quick question for you guys. which do you think is better. a camp like this with just drills and a lot of teaching, or a full contact camp. which do you think would benefit a kid more?

right now any camps will do....we just dont have enough camps around here or people to do them or willing to do them...not even by coaches.....

I imagine it's a lot of work to get these camps organized. You really have to be passionate about it....

i know some guys who have a camp every year in the summer in san marcos. it is a full contact camp but the amount of participants in the camp has steadily declined and they were talking about possibly moving the camp to a place that might bring in more kids. it's an overnight camp. they bring in a college coach, these past few years it's been the guy from trinity, to run the thing and they also bring in a group of coaches from the redlands university in california. a lot of good instruction. what do you guys think about a camp like this.
