That's funny, LMKA, considering that RH beat PI, and a few years ago, Hidalgo came mighty close to ruining your streak (RH whooped on Hidalgo after that, as did PI) . . . think before you type. As for me putting RH first, Freudian slip. If you notice, I went 3A to 4A t0 5A, then threw in 2A at the bottom. I do think RH will be top 5. If you want my order . . . LF EE RH Har PI PSJAN LJ PSJAMem WE SR Lemon Fresh don't take it personal. Its the respect that PI has earn from not only but alot of people in the valley. Rio Hondo has a long way to to gain the respect PI has. Regardless what you did with those teams that still does mean you can run with the big dogs like E-E. If you want to bring up Hidalgo that same year we killed PI 49-7 and yet they still beat you and won District that year. So you can't compare how one teams play us compare to you. There are 3 teams in the Valley that teams come prepared to play and one of those team is not the Rio Hondo Bobcats. Its E-E, PI and Harlingen in no particular order. +10, couldn't have said it better myself. I am all for supporting your team, but there is a fine like between support and delusional.

1. LF they've proven they can do it. despite losing their big linemen, they have to be considered as the top. 2.EE they also have proven they can do it with any group. both them and LF are going to have a good crop of returners with experience. 3.Mchi they return the core of their offense, the big boys up front. with that massive line anybody in the backfield SHOULD be able to get things done 4.PI the only 3a team i feel comfortable putting in here because of their tradition and the fact that their jv beat EE's. i saw EE's jv and they were a pretty tough group. for PI to come back on them is an amazing accomplishment, especially after they were down 20 pts. 5.Whs a young team with something to prove after the rgv's leading rusher graduated. they return a full line with the graduating seniors spots being filled by guys that saw substantial playing time last year. return their quarterback, and defensively finally have a set of linebackers that are used to playing that position. 6.Donna their great string of running backs might never end and they have some pretty good sized boys up front to pave the way. also a little young on the offensive side up front, but their defense might be the one to win games for them. 7.Harlingen tradition and the pride the kids have in that tradition will get the cards through some tough games this year. one of the best programs in the rgv that continues to be competitive no matter who's coaching or who's on the field. 8.Weslaco East a team that feels they have the most to prove this year. a lot of talent all over the field, not so much on the sideline but they play hard and help to compensate for the mistakes of those on the sideline. great line up front and one of the toughest backs running behiind them. they SHOULD have a young qb this year who really knows the game. defensively they're big and will get after anyone. 9.SB another tradition rich team that really does have something to prove. so far this summer they've played very well in 7on7 games so their skill players are right up there with those of any other school. might have to change things up offensively as their qb is not going to be the same type of player as they had last year. 10.RH ok, one more 3a team. they've been tough for the past few years, and despite the coach leaving, they now have a base on which any other coach can build. tons of pride and very well coached players will help them make this an interesting year. mercedes could make the jump if their defense picks up the pieces and gets after it this year. they were non-existent this past year in big games. if they do that they could be as high as 6 or 7. idk what their line looks like this year, but last year it was very small. i'm not even going to consider harlingen south. lost the vast majority of their starters and backups. i understand they graduated 30+ seniors from last years team. when that happened in weslaco the following year they didn't win a single game. no experience and a bunch of turmoil right after the season will hurt the hawks. (hopefully i don't eat my words on this one) 4,5,6 can be interchanged. PI is going to have a group that's used to playing together that's why i put them so high. weslaco is going to be very young and donna lost the beef up front. +1

well EE is going to be good... a little rough around the edges im sure but still a force to be reckoned with...
as for weslaco...i think alot of skepticism hovers around the team due to the loss of the great mishak...and even you have to agree a loss like that is huge for any team...
bottom line...the panthers have a lot to prove this coming year...
what say you?

HBK, i think when this thread took a turn to not being all about the jackets..it then became a pointless thread to them... No, it became pointless after the 3a guys started whining about how upset they get b/c nobody ever gives them any respect in their top 10 polls.

i agree with you guy, the panthers will miss him. not having to pass and still getting those big gains is a big help to the coaches, and helps to put butts in the stands, but weslaco always has speedsters. that's why they're always tough in track. they're always fast. i know right now we got a guy who runs a 4.6 as a freshman. actually we have about 4 of those. yes, they're not going to be as elusive as mishak, but to be quite honest some of his longest runs, especially against mercedes, were just around the edge and straight up the field. he didn't have to juke anyone. he will be missed, but we got a group of backs coming up that are tough and will have no problems picking up where mishak left off.
