Just like a person, no matter how it's raised anyone can have their day. You never really know what a dog is thinking unless it speaks and tells you. You here it in the news everyday moms killing their kids, co-workers going on a killing spree, students killing students and teachers. Now imagine a dog that can't really speak out its problems not even to his loyal owner of what it feels or wants. Imagine the fustration in that dog. Especially a pit bull cuz of its short temper and agressiveness.

maybe the aggression is innate, but they also have an innate ability to learn and understand things. if they learn and understand that they ARE NOT the rulers of their area. they will listen and be good dogs if you show them how. however, there's times, even with people, when they act against something they know and explode. it can happen to anyone at anytime. it is important to understand the situation you are in when you are around another person as well as another animal. pay attention to them, understand the way they act when they are in different moods. too often we forget that although they are not able to communicate with us through words, every type of domesticated animal has a personality that you have to learn to live with and have respect for.

if you dont talk to your dog or understands what he wants or feels...then you shouldnt own a dog at all ......any dog.....ive owned 4 pits....all good dogs...i talked to them like normal people..would...treat em the same...i would chain up my pits for exercise cause i liked for them to look big and healthy...then play around with them for a while and then id put them in there cage....a big 10x12' fenced area under a tree..... never hurt a fly......
they were all trained by me...even to protect when called upon...but they never turned on me or anyone....yea they barked but i had it trained to do that when strangers were around...

+1 RPM. Me & my bros have had pits all our lives & never once did they ever turn on us or anybody. It all depends on how you raise your dog to be. Pits can be very short tempered and provoking them is not a good idea either. It's just a very sad situation to hear about the lil boy who died regarding this matter.

at the same time....my neighbor has a blue heeler that wants to tear me apart when i go get the mail....and that dogs known me for a very long time....

yeah my neighbor has 2 doberman's who could care less that we've lived here for 3 years and they've seen me talking to their owner. they still try to jump over the 8 ft fence when they see me by the bbq pit on sundays.

i bit back when i got attacked by my neighbors pitbull. it was disgusting but he stopped trying to attack me after that.

I thought I read somewhere where Pit Bulls were bred as fighting dogs. I could be wrong though. Either way, if a dog hurt one of my kids he'd be shot in a heartbeat by me.
