Game will be held on the 28th. Lopez's Coach Leal will coach the East side and Mike Sanchez from Lopez will be in this game as his final game for highschool baseball. I think practices will be hld either at Lopez or Whitewings stadium.

East wins first All-Star game since 2000
By Peter Rasmussen Jun 28, 2008 10:03 pm
LA JOYA - On paper, the East all-stars were underdogs but were determined to snap a seven-year losing streak to the West.
The East didn't make it easy for itself, blowing a four-run lead and then having to rally from a two-run deficit to send the game into extra innings.
But five runs in the 11th would propel the East to a 14-9 East-West Senior All-Star Game victory Saturday in La Joya.
It is the East's first win since 2000, but the West still leads the all-time series 20-6.
"I think they used that as motivation," West coach Barton Bickerton said about the East's drought. "They really wanted to win. I wouldn't say they wanted to win more, but they were definitely hungrier."
Port Isabel's David Alaniz broke the tie in the 11th with a double that produced two runs. Harlingen South's Peter Maldonado followed with a single to right that was bobbled, allowing two more runs to score. The East added a fifth run in the inning for a 14-9 lead.
"There was a pitching change right before I went up and coach (Albert Leal) called me over and asked me what I wanted to do, either hit or bunt," Alaniz said. "I told him I wanted to hit it and he said, ‘Go get it smalls.' It was 2-2 and I ripped it."
The West had trailed 6-2 after the East put four runs on the board in the fourth inning. The West began to chip away at the lead in the bottom half of the inning.
La Joya's Javier Ramirez (2-for-2, three RBIs) brought in two runs with an RBI single. Ramirez scored two batters later on an East error to bring the West to within 6-5.
Trailing 7-5, The West added one run in the sixth before finally catching and passing the East in the seventh.
Mission's Steve Gonzalez hit a double to left that scored two runs. Edinburg Economedes shortstop Hector Rios hit a sac-fly to right that plated McAllen High's Albert Vizcaino for a 9-7 West lead after seven.
"What mattered most was that these guys had fun out there," Leal said. "Even when we went down they were joking and laughing in the dugout. There was no pressure at all."
The East scored one run in both the eighth and ninth innings to send the game into extra innings.
The winning pitcher was Brownsville Rivera's Adam Vera.
"We knew we hadn't won in awhile, and we talked about it," Leal said. "We didn't put any pressure on ourselves. It became like a running joke."
The game's MVPs were Brownsville Porter's Henry Garcia and Rio Grande City's B.J. Valdez.
