We need to do way better than that to get the respect we deserve from those a**es up north.

and people down here want to know why we get no respect EVEN with a moral victory (which is a joke IMO)

ouch 1 victory from 2000-2007 ? and thats over eagle pass which play with the laredo teams u didn't list? man, plenty of work to do!
Winning in the classic games should help even if it's not in the 5A ranks, wink wink Mercedes!

As a whole, the valley needs to start beating those teams. Sometimes decisively. Like RPM said....It can be done.

it should've been done this year. we're getting close though. i know that doesn't mean much to people who count the wins/losses every year, but it means a whole bunch to the kids that are watching. i think this year we might have 1, even 2 teams making it to the 4th round. hopefully further

Yea but I think we are taking big steps to improving ourselves. More than what we used to be doing.

IMO, these 7on7 games will only help all the RGV teams, i've never heard of so many tournaments held valleywide.
Whatever helps the valleys receivers, QBs, LBs and DBs get more reps, i'm down for that - pads or no pads :-)

There have been some close games over the years where our valley teams have played even but just couldnt pull out the victory. Being from Harlingen the Cardinals loss to New Braunsfield is one i recall of being anyones game to the end. And Harlingen South outplayed eventual state champ San Antonio Roosevelt. Edinburg loss to Judson a couple of times by a touchdown in the early eighties.

I dont know if anyone else believes this but i think we get hurt by northern super teams. What i mean is you get in metro areas like San Antonio alot of kids go to the schools with the best programs, even if its not their district. Say a great athlete should go to Fox Tech but finds is way to Judson where more scouts my see him during the season and in a deep playoff run. I could be wrong but i wouldnt be surprised if there is alot of that.

I was just wondering because you say it should have been done this year. It has been done. It just isn't done consistently. You say we might have 1 or 2 teams get to the 4th round this year, hopefully further. We should be going way further than that considering we could play two valley teams in the first two rounds. Getting to the third round and losing to the first up north team we face WILL NOT DO. Why do we pat ourselves on the back thinking that is a great job? ?

what i meant was that all the teams that played northern teams this year should've won. with the exception of harlingen south, every single team was in the game til the end. just couldn't close it out.
