There has always been confusion whether these teams are older than our players from the valley (people claim they are collegiate aged). Can anyone clear up this confusion?
I know San Benito has a game vs. a Mexican team and McHi took on El Tech de Monterrey for a few years. Harlingen South played vs. Toluca back in 1993. Whats your opinion on valley teams playing against college teams from Mexico?

If i was a coach i wouldnt want to schedule one of their teams. Most of the time they get whipped by the valley teams. And they dont bring any fans so its a lousy atmosphere.

it's not our fault the fans can't get across They should try the old fashioned way

There is a difference though... I don't know which teams are which, but there are prep schools (kind of like high-schools) then there are the college level teams from Mexico. Usually when the RGV team wins, it because they were playing the prep team.

Sometimes they bring a good team but usually the valley wins big.

what was told to me is that the only way the mexican team can play sb is only the players who were 18 and under can play cause they have a few 20 and 21 yr old on the roster...years ago sb played some teams from mexico and alot of them were much older...but should be a good game for the hounds cause a bye week would have sucked. anyway...LETS GO HOUNDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

i remember one year , Ralph Valdez PIs running back ran all over Monterrey tech and the next yr the MTR team looked way bigger and faster than PI and just dominated, they ended up winning like 42 -0 or something like that. After the game we saw some players and their parents at whataburger in PI and we asked them why they were you all so much better than last yr, they answered. Oh, ha! its because last yr you played our prep school and this yr our coach decided to bring the older players, in other words i guess their college kids. They answered in spanish of course ;D
