We all know that this years award for most disappointing turnaround is gonna be my beloved Harlingen South Hawks. After being the number 1 team in the valley last year (yes #1 even though we got spanked by Smithson Valley) this year is not looking good already. Brand new coaching staff, brand new team, brand new everything and all we have to show for it is a 7 touchdown shutout loss to San Benito in the scrimmage. I wont be suprised if the team struggles to go .500
Anyone else think another team is gonna suffer the same fate as the Hawks? or does anyone remember of any teams from the past that went through this?

Rename this the "Harlingen South Thread"
That'll get the card fans all fired up... (They want to be the only Harlingen team with their own thread)

Thankfully those racist dudes got beat by Tatum who backed us up and told us that they were going to silence them, which they did. Unfortunatly Tatum lost to Farmersville in the class 2A title game but they did beat Salado.

Doubt it. At least HS has a winning tradition to back them up. If HS does fall, and that is a big "if" with coach Cherry at the helm, I think it will be more like a small stumble instead of a full flat on your face fall. They will be alright and probably will still make the playoffs, at least I hope they do. ;D

well, im not sure about that. Team chemistry is pretty bad over there. Harlingen South wont make the playoffs this year, so with that said, they probably wont be doing the hawka anytime soon.
Its too bad to see the hard work me and my teammates put in the past 4 years there go to waste. not to sound arrogant or anything but, we graduated and there went the team...

It's too early to tell. You gotta see how they come out of non-district. Go Hawks beat the Cardinals!

Putting down the this years team is enough for me to say seeing as how i played for last year's hawk team and good friends with pretty much the whole team!! But ive talked personally to alot players and their morale as a team is pretty dang low!
And as for the the hawka...i agree, it was pretty lame and the way we did it gave it no justice. Its a great adrenaline booster for the start of the game but we had no Pacific Islanders on our team so we could do it. Im sure a lot of us would be pretty bothered if the Samoans did the wapango coming out of the tunnel or something.
