Weslaco East v. Raymondville (scrimmage)

Anybody see this game today?

East had a real solid scrimmage! The East coach threw in a lot of new wrinkles in the offense with different formations that really complimented Alvarado. He looked good and managed to break several long runs. The offensive line looked tough, you could really see the powerlifting program in full effect as they were just pushing (and running over) people. East had two good looking QBs, one has speed, but the other is a more accurate passer. Defense was adequate, nothing really stood out. They did manage to hold Raymondville to only one score (an 60+ yrd TD pass).

Not sure about the final, but East was up 4 TDs to 1 TD.

Nice job east, was just reading the article on this scrimmage. East won 31-6, both coaches decided to go against the controlled scrimmage and went with playing 4 live quarters.

Pre-Season talk was about how Ray had plenty of Speed. How did Ray look?

the way i heard it, they had plenty of speed (raymondville) but couldn't contend with the big boys up front for weslaco east on either side of the ball.

the big boys weren't letting the play develop, and raymondville wasn't very fast. just over average.

maybe raymondville just doesn't know how to use the speed they do have.....
