Do any of you people own or have one and is it worth it? I want one but after I payoff some bills. Namely credit cards(not good) and me and my wife's trucks(about two years).

You really really really need to think about it. You will pay for your pool a few times just with the maintenance. Then there's chemicals and periodic pump replacement costs and so on. PM me if you want to hear some stupid stories about pools.

True corb. You're looking at around $15,000 and up for something decent and done right. There are guys out there who will say they will do it for less and leave you with a big hole. Chemicals can run you from about $50 to $100 maybe every 6 months depending on size of the pool and the use. When using a pump, you will see that reflected in your electricity bill. Those are just some of the things to consider but if you are serious about it, i would definitely pay off some of that lingering debt before you take on a pool.

Chemicals and repairs will get you. Master Shake mention 50-100 ever six months. My experiences haven't been that good.

yes, i used to have a pool about 4 years ago when i still lived with parents. I think it is worth it. It is awesome to have pool parties, brings family together, and it will always be there when you feel like taking a dip. Diamond Pools is the name of the company that built it for us. I wouldnt recommend them though.

When I purchased my previous home it had a pool in it. I thought i would try to save some $$ and do the maintainance myself. Stupid idea . within a couple of weeks my pool was a nice dark green color and not inviting at all. Had to hire someone to come and clean it. He cleaned it up in a couple of hours. After that, one of his employees would come around once every two weeks to add whatever was needed and clean it. I did that for about 3 yrs and the cost wasn't too bad. He would charge me around $50 per month, but I would provide the chemicals. Well worth it my oponion. Now in my new house, I don't have a pool and kind of regret it when I see my kids playing on the grass with slip and slid or something similar. I hope to get on sometime before my kids get too old.
