For Mercy fans, this will be the first and only practice road trip of the season. It's a good time to try new things: 1. which car to take to the game 2. should I eat before or after the game or both. 3. is my seat cushion from last year still ok or time to replace it 4. How many tacos can I sneak in? Can I get the soda in without being caught. 5. Time to get the rear end in shape to take the rigors of a 3 hr game. d 6. Timing: what time do I have to leave the house to make it to the game on time. Things you will NOT be able to work on til the season starts: 1. Mentally block out that annoying fan that does nothing but criticize every play being called and thinks he know more about football than anyone else. 2. How long it will take to get that coke and nachos during halftime and try to avoid having to sit through the bands playing. 3. Dealing w/ the annoying fans that get up during the game and try to squeeze by you several times. Feel free to add any that i may have forgotten. ;D 4.

I actually have a cousin that sits close to me and all I hear the entire game are complaints about this or that. It gets very annoying. Oh here's another one: Things you can't work on unitl the season starts: trying to get the fan that sits infront of you to stay seated, instead of getting up for every play. My goodness does that irritate me.

Learn to ignore "fair weather" fans who only go to games when your team is on a winning streak and swear you are sitting in their seats eventhough you have season tickets and have sat there for the past ten years!

I know PSJA and Edinburg North have SRO sections (in the general section), who else has one?

Finally Friday night football is back. Sometimes I think people put way too much importance on how teams do in a scrimmage. Whether P.I. wins or Mercedes wins means nothing at all. Different players playing with different groups, new plays being worked on, second string guys getting looked at. Remember last year at the beginning of the season Weslaco had a terrible scrimmage against one of the Edinburg schools, look how that turned out in the end. Take it for what it is and lets just finally enjoy some football.

Redfish that is TOO much, you are hilarious! lol or probably really bored, but thats funny stuff right there ;D who ever said scrimmages were only for players to get ready for a game? Fans have to get in shape too. That rear end starts to hurt on or about the beginning of the second qtr. I takes me about 3 games to get it ready for a no pain game. one more of the things you can't prepare for unitl the season starts: 1. fighting w/ the high school and jr high kids at the concession stands as they cut in line, start talking to a friend and pretend that no one saw them. >: Last year at the weslaco game, I went down right at half time. when I got to the concession stand there were about 20 people in front of me. Twenty five minutes later, 10 people were ahead of me with about 50 teens having been served already.
