I have to say there were alot of positives and few negatives all in all a very good scrimmage for both teams.Alex,Izzy and Albert looked pretty good the D showed it can play.one thing is for sure if Alex and Izzy keep playing like they did tonight they are going to make some noise in the RGV.
PI needs to hold on to the ball and they'll be alright, the Defense needs to control their temper or they will be getting alot of unsportsmanlike penalties.Well good luck the rest of the way guys and represent the RGV in the playoffs.

Just got back from the game and a great dinner at Pirates Landing.....
The Tiger O looked good for the most part a few fumbles that stopped them from scoring more, but overall the line blocked well, Alex & Izzy ran tough and around PI all night and Albert threw the ball well all night, even the second team moved the ball...
The Tiger D did moe than I anticipated considering they only have 4 returners but Jabo on the line manhandled his guy all night and the LB's played very well... The DB's did okay but the experience of playing on varsity was invaluable....
PI looked okay but they looked outmatched tonight...Demoss has terrible mechanics throwing the ball but runs hard and is relatively accurate, the other QB seemed to run the offense a little bit better
PI D doesn't have that big LB to make a play like they usually do but overall I thought they did okay....
Tigers came out ready to play and took it to PI but like we all know its just a scrimmage but a building block for next week nonetheless

Great performance by the Tigers tonight, other than the little miscues i was really impressed with what i saw. The offense looked like it was clicking together, the "D" needs a little bit more practice but those youngins can fly to the ball and lay some hits .....*OVERALL = GOOD PERFORMANCE* Lets go boys keep the wagon rolling.....Next stop S.A. [glow=red,2,300][shadow=red,left,300]ALL ABOARD.....[/shadow][/glow]

Interesting but not too surprised. Upcoming JV players who are used to winning now facing a bigger challenge with the Senior Mix and this is Varsity now. They just need to understand this was a scrimmage. Some are showing some promise and that is a good sign. It does get frustrating when things are not working well, but should be more a learning phase to work on what is needed.
Mercedes to me even though just a scrimmage is starting off where they left off in their playoff game with Calallen. They found out they could play with the talent they have and if they learn how to exploit the weaknesses of the opposition as they did Calallen in the play offs last year they will be a team in the right direction this year. That game also showed a good coaching strategy against Calallen.
PI will do fine as the year progresses if they learn how to get up and focus with determination on every setback. You have to learn how to lose in order to win. They will have their hands full with West Oso since there is speed on that team. Lets pick it up a notch or a couple of notches and start getting ready for district not far away. EE will be another big test at their house on the third game.
LETS GO TARPONS!

I had his full attention for trip over there and on the way back. ;D as far as alex goes, he will most likely be returning both kick offs and punt returns.
