PS, week zero is a non district game. It doesn't get you into the playoffs. The most important game is your first district game, not a meaningless non district game..[/quote]
sure the district games are the most important but you have to have momentum going into district you can't just expect to win after loosing your non-district games

Even La Joya made a run at it after several losses. Sure, everyone wants to win everygame, but non district is just that.

well its just like saying you have a playoff spot and your non contending for the district title you still want to win that last regular season game for momentum in the playoffs

Shouldn't we wait till the season is at least under way. We at least have to see how the teams do during the season. THis is just a wasted topic to begin with. This thread should have been posted at least around week 6-10. Otherwise I going to have to say, NO!

Los Fresnos gave up a TD in the endzone that would have givenn them a 21 pt lead in ht esecond qrt. after that interception after interception on those slant routes... kids were just waiting for them... which in turn was an easy TD the other way...
THat is what was the main problem in all third round games... those slant routes turned into TD by the SA D's

Actually IMO this thread coming right before the season is fine by me. We can reflect how the RGV did the past year and see where we still need some work; what teams still need to do to be successful against SA schools (any Reg IV team for that matter ) in the near future. IF this was posted lets say week 7 on it would have a more can we beat them this year? Either way... Let's get a Cardinal, we want a Cardinal! Go Tarpons Go!

First quarter post from the sports writer for SA Express News:
End of first quarter, Los Fresnos leads 14-6. First impression -- this Falcons team is big, well-prepared and good. They took a 14-0 lead behind two touchdown passes from Mark Carmona before Marcus Wright (who else?) got the Rattlers back in it with an 80-yard run. That gives him the city single-season record with 3,038 yards and counting. The bigger story, however, is Reagan's defense. Los Fresnos is moving the ball with ease, racking up eight first downs and about 125 yards in the first 12 minutes. If they don't tighten up quick, the Rattlers are in big trouble.
Reagan won of course, but I would have loved to be next to that guy in the first quarter.
Just an FYI, that was Reagan's 2nd year in the playoffs, and lost the next round (4th round). They also lost the 4th round last year after 'valley week'.

Boys were young last year and i beleive there age showed in the second half.. this year the Jr.'s and soph are one year older and wiser and alot more composed... like i said i have seen many when i go running and they all have a snarl on there face,... they know what happened and even though they made our city proud especially winning those last three games they feel like last year wasn't enough.. they want more and have a attitude that shows... like i said.. the ways these guys look are how i saw Eloy and Mario last year...
Be prepared for a more tougher, meaner, angrier, determined squad.... I like it...

prediction... LF will have the best D in 325a considering they play cal and PSJA and Wes, but could also compete for the best in the valley/.... just my O
I dont think LF has ever had the best D in any year... so that in itself will be an accomplishment...
