Damn right! If you don't value life and kill, then your life isn't valued to society.

Genesis 9:6 "Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made man."
Numbers 35:31 "Do not accept a ransom for the life of a murderer, who deserves to die. He must surely be put to death."
Numbers 35:33 "Do not pollute the land where you are. Bloodshed pollutes the land, and atonement cannot be made for the land on which blood has been shed, except by the blood of the one who shed it."
Exodus 21:12 (same chapter as the 10 commandments, a few verse after them, actually) "Anyone who strikes a man and kills him shall surely be put to death."
Any questions?

My only real problem with the death penalty is how long it takes for it to happen. It would be much more of a deterrent to violent crime if the penalty were carried out in short order.

thou shall not kill.........does that only count for the murderer? Not sure what you meant on that one. The translation is closer to "thou shalt not murder." That's a modern word. Killing wasn't prohibited in the Old Testament.

What I don't get is that these murderers can't man up for thier wrong doing and accept responsibility for thier actions. They've killed somone in cold blood(in most cases) but yet they don't want to die. So we as taxpayers are paying for them to be in prison while they exhaust appeals after appeals.

I don't think we use it enough, too many appeals, and it should be on TV to educate those that maybe are thinking of commiting the most heinous of crimes. Ron White dors a great bit on the Texas Death penalty.

man its such a touchy subject...
I guess I dont have a problem with it, so long as the judge or jury that decided he should have the death sentence are the ones that actually kill him...
like if they have a button they have to push or something

in reference to appeals . . . someone said something to the effect of it is better to let 1000 guilty men to go free then to kill one innocent man

I guess that's true lemon but with the technology that we have now a days law enforcement can pretty much tie a killer to the crime scene.
