What kind of job? I work in the industry...probably not the job you're looking at but I also know a lot of people that work in the fields, etc. for Shell.

i am about to go take a testing for possible job working with exxon mobil. anybody ever work for companies like this? any experience or advice you can give me? The pay can be very good as well as the benefits like 401K, etc. Quite a few people up here in the Corpus area work in the oil/refining industry in one capacity or another and make a career of it and retire very nicely. Of course their are work place hazards and what have you, but the benefits in most cases outweigh the rewards. And one thing alot of these guys do like is the flexible scheduling. Downside is if the oil industry goes bust like it did in the 1980's which caused a recession in Texas. But this time it might be different because the world wide demand side is there to keep the industry going.

to be honest guys i dont even know. i just received a letter in the mail for me to go test in Robstown for an Operations job here in South Tx. A lot of people i know have worked at he oil fields and they get paid good money and flexible hours, but yea i've heard about the job hazards as well. But im willing to go test and see what job i can find, as long as it pays more than my current job!

pay is good, some people do two weeks straight a week off. or one week on and one off.
lots of people do it for two months and get out, its just too much work and too much traveling
