Get a fixed rate instead of the fluctuating one. At least you will know how much you're gonna be paying per kw hour. Right now I have a 1 yr contract with Stream at 11.9cents per kw hour, but I fear when I renew it next spring it will be much higher.

I'm with Nueces and initially it was at 11 cents per KH but obviously not anymore.

No I don't think they are that cheap anymore. I think they are at 15.9 or so, but I hear Stream is still the lowest priced around from what I hear.

I got my light bill today. This should be the last bill I get from STARTEX and what do you think estos vatos did? Just like a story I saw on the news, AEP "estimated" the usage. Well since my last few bills have been hovering around the 300 mark, I was expecting something a bit lower since I had no power for 7 days after the hurricane. Pos que creen que salen con estos pinche gueyes? SIX HUNDRED AND SEVENTY FIVE DOLLARS!!! I said what!! I called STARTEX and sure enough they said that my bill was estimated. I told them I had no power at all for 7 days how could it be that much. They said they had to estimate because of the hurricane. So I told STARTEX if it was ok if I "estimated" the amount I think I should pay because of the hurricane y se quedo callada. That is some BS. They did a few quick calculations and it turns out that my bill is waay less than HALF of what they billed me for. Que piensan estos vatos, que uno se va dejar o que?!?

Same here. I heard recently that the uncovered costs of repairs can be claimed on our income tax returns because of us being declared a disaster area. I need to look into that.

A fixed rate is based on you using set number of kilowatts.....if you go over those kilowatts every month, CPL adds whatever amount you went over every month, at the end of the term of said fixed rate they then charge you for those kilowatt hours you went over...

How can they estimate if no electricity was used what so ever. You know why? Because they can't have any financial losses. Can someone please look into this and if see if we have any legal recourse? God this pisses me off, on top of all the other things we have to worry about know this. My best wishes to you jacketvato89 and good luck with that.

I just talked to the people at Commerce and if you have an issue with an estimated bill call AEP Central and have them do the actual meter reading.
AEP Central's number is: 1-877-373-4858

26 cents is freakin insane!
I'm pissed b/c I saw a 2 cent raise. 14 to 16 cents. In the same month that I had double the usage... perfect timing for them.
